Interestingly, it looks like BJ Flores and Grigory Drozd are in line for the Afolabi - Ramirez winner.

I'd favour Flores to come out with the belt, but any combination of those names would result in an intriguing matchup, IMO.

The WBO's top 10 at the start of this month:

    Interim Champ: Victor Ramirez
    1. Enzo Maccarinelli
    2. Ola Afolabi
    3. Herbie Hide
    4. Grigory Drozd
    5. Marco Huck
    6. Johnathon Banks
    7. BJ Flores
    8. Valery Brudov
    9. Steve Cunningham
    10. Troy Winston Ross

When Ola and Ramirez fight, the top 5 will look like this:

Afolabi vs Ramirez Winner = Champ
    1. Herbie Hide (fighting WBC elim)
    2. Grigory Drozd
    3. Marco Huck (fighting WBA elim)
    4. BJ Flores
    5. Valery Brudov

Enzo losing just opened the door for some great fights, as the belt isn't being held hostage in the UK anymore. :happy

It's an underrated division in my eyes. :good

Adamek Cunningham gave it new life.

    You seem to prefer 168?

I'm surprised that Afolabi stopped him within the limit. From what I'd seen of him, he lets guys hang around that he shouldn't. There's some intriguing matchups in this division.

The WBO ranks Banks and Flores ahead of Cunningham?? This doesn't seem right. I'd like to see Cunningham fight Adamek again, the first fight was a good one.

Haye beat Macc, well, that was his greatest win. Vlad will murder him.

I was surprised too. Though Flores fights next week against a ranked opponent, so he should leapfrog Banks in the WBO rankings.

Cunningham is the division's #2, but each sanctioning org has their own fighters at or near the top, and Cunn is tops in the IBF.

Did you just include 'great fights' and 'BJ Flores' in the same thought?

What belt? Enzo didn't have a belt.

Amazing, isn't it? Just 3 month ago we were discussing Maccarinelli-Alexeev, and it's now Ramirez-Afolabi. Boxing is great.

Yes, that fight seemed a foregone conclusion to everyone, including yours truly.

But a pair of upsets later, and the door is wide open. :bbb

Enzo Mac was clearly wining that fight, he was caught in the second but apart from that he wasn't in any trouble. The guy just got lazy and got TKO'd, there is no doubt Enzo Mac has got skills but he just can't get lazy sloppy in a fight.

Hide is going to be a contender, no matter about his performance in the last fight, he won... the dancing destroyer is back
