Look at this interview some time before the David Haye fight.......................this was the old Enzo Maccarnelli he had not lost since he came in the ring still hung over from a night out drinking when he was just 19 years old

He was a super confident World Champion Boxer...................this video proves it.........have a look

    [yt]44KVeTLOGRw[/yt]

Unlucky for Enzo but things went horribly wrong

He was bombed out inside 2 rounds

Since then he has been out of the ring

He is due to return on Decemeber 6th straight in for his old World Title Belt

The question is in what frame of mind?

Confidence is key to any fighter - lose that and you are ****ed

Will there be demons and doubts there?

How can Enzo just shrug off such a brutal and quick defeat last time out?

Enzo is talking a good game

In a article out yesterday he says how he still watches the Haye fight twice a week and said in yesterdays article how

If Enzo loses to Banks he will be destined for a career at domestic/euro level.

Is banks that guy who taught himself how to box?

Enzo needs to fight someone like Herbie Hide to get a bit of British public interest back on his side...

You never know - if he jumps on Banks and does a number on him quick it could really boost the rest of his career.

But if he comes out a bit slow and catches one or two, who knows what might happen? He might go into a shell.

    Hope he does well.

I just seen Enzo's DAD in Tesco earlier - I'm sure it was him - I think so anyway but I might be mistaken.

His name is Mario - he was a boxing trainer for years.

And I think he was the one who put his head in his hands ringside when Haye stopped Enzo.

If Enzo Calzaghe packs in boxing as rumoured - maybe Mario could train Enzo again - although his old man is quite old now - so might not be physically up to the job.

Enzo had super confidence before Haye knocked him out?

Did you not see the look of sheer terror on his face as he galloped to the ring to face Haye?

This is a man who seeked out a fight with Haye and said

"when I drop Haye he wont be geeting back up"

OK - he was knocked out on the night

but before the fight he was very confident of KO Haye

Not directly before it though Flint.

And certainly not by the start of round 2. He really did look caught in the headlights.

If Banks catches him with one early he might revert to that.

I agree - it look like he froze on the night

I was very surprised by that

after weeks of sounding confident and talking a good game of how he was going to

"punch a hole in Hayes head"

he kind was froze on the night

why do think that was? :huh

he should have been buzzing- this was the fight he had wanted for ages and had trained so hard for

I believe he goes out and destroys Banks within 3 rounds because he knows it's now or never and he will want to make amends

When you hear the elite fighters talking in the build up to super fights they always stress the importance of peaking on fight night.
They say if you peak the night before or night after it is a disaster.

So with this in mind it concerns me how long Enzo has been training with different dates in his mind. His fight has been moved/changed at least 3 or 4 times that I know of so it's going to be nigh on impossible to 'peak' on the night of the fight given the amount of time he's been training.

I hope he has been sensible and not been too eager risking burnout.

Could be nothing but it's just something that come to mind a few days back.

He froze after he ate that first big straight right. It landed with a right thump and changed his facial expression immediately from one of confidence to absolute fear. Enzo might be a big puncher, but Haye is a murderous puncher, so no shame in it and he lost to the best in the division. Hopefully he comes back confident and stops this guy. I do think the Haye loss will plague him, expect him to look for a rematch if and when Haye loses at heavy.

Good point. I think Enzo will win but wont bomb out Banks, I dont think Enzo will look particurlarly great either but after a defeat like that maybe the most important thing is just to get that W, and he'll also be winning a world title at that.
