    Damn straight.

Both Haye and Vlad have questions to answer over their punch resistance, Vlad has the natural weight advantage of the big HW, but Haye is mentally strong whereas Vlad is mentally weak.

However, I'm kinda getting ahead of things at the moment. We have to see how Haye takes Barrett's punches before talking about how he would fare with Vlad. This is just hypothesis at the moment.

You're a bona fide nut job! Take a look at his record, it was about his tenth genuine cruiserweight bout (not counting those light heavy bouts that were a pound or two over the limit)

edit: damn you Beestone, beat me to it

Wrong again! He had won an eliminator against Jason Robinson (not the rugby cross-code legend) the fight before when he was in shape and fought superbly and had beaten good cruisers like Washington, Garbey and Saul Montana. All these fights were around the 190s in weight I grant you (I think it was around this time that the sanctioning bodies one-by-one upped the weight limit from 190 to 200lb), but Toney had been serious for a long time before the Jirov fight.

Which simply goes to show the fact that most Americans don't know boxing exists outside of their own country never mind watch any of it! Nobody is saying Haye is the heir apparent at heavy and Wlad is right he will have to get in line and prove himself before getting a shot. He may manage it, he may not.

However, simply by virtue of the fact that he was a champ in the division below, he has much more chance of becoming a champ than your average fighter. Of course, owing to the massive gap between cruiser and heavy as opposed to, say, the man at super feather fighting for a lightweight title, this is less of a chance than in other divisions. Myself, I think he will make some noise but he ain't gonna dominate - I can't see him beating Wlad for one. Monte Barrett is a good first fight, a decent "gatekeeper" type fighter who will show if Haye truly has what it takes to be a contender.

Flint, please stop with the endless Enzo threads...Listen, i was a pretty avid fan, but all these threads are actually making me dislike the guy. What I'm trying to say is - If you're a fan, then stop it. All you're doing is making Enzo look bad by bringing up quotes about a rematch and starting threads about Enzo v Tyson / Ali. I realize it might be a wind-up, but it's getting old.

I can blame him. Watch Nigel Been interviewed after he lost to Eubank in what was a far closer fight. He said "He beat me fair and he beat me good". There would be nothing wrong with Enzo saying he believes he can rectify flaws and in the future would love the chance to fight Haye because he thinks he could beat him and get revenge.

But to go on about how he beat himself, he made a mistake, he is the better fighter...it is pathetic.

That really pisses me off as well. The mistake was agreeing to a fight with a superior fighter who could kick his arse with little effort..
Beyond that It was Haye who battered him,he didnt batter himself with his 'mistakes'.
Any sore loser can say they lost through a 'mistake'.
    Pathetic.

Can't believe it's taken this long, he sounds like he's having withdrawal symptoms already.
