When he lands clean he is devastating. If you look at his record it is his first 13 fights that stop his ko percentage looking as good as it could. In his first 13 bouts, four guys survived. Since then only Abdoul, Hobson and Braithwaite have survived. But if you look closer Braithwaite was dropped and hurt, as was Hobson. Hobson was rematched and sparked. Abdoul appears to have survived pretty much everybody. In Enzo and Haye I think we have two sensational punchers. Both had to lose and get some serious experience for them to become what they are today.
I dont want to rain on Enzo's parade as he had a good win tonight but prior to that his competition level has been pretty poor. Haye in my opinion has far more potential than Enzo.
I had to laugh when Rozenthal said "pound for pound, Macarinelli is the biggest puncher in the business" I suppose they forgot about Pac then:-(
"DING" has the power to knock out a lot of guys in the division but in the fight ive seen of his which to be honest is only 4 he looks like a guy who if up against an opponent with good boxing skill would possibly dominate him. Dont get me wrong, i love the KO guys compared to slick boxers but you tend to find that a top class boxer will mostly beat a top class banger/Slugger
Ding's very beatable, I wasn't suggesting that he wasn't. If we're talking raw power though, Mac's not even comparable to Ding.
good win for enzo. one thing about the macca - haye comparison is that macca appears to be a much more careful fighter. haye would have tried to end it the first time it looked like braithwaite was hurt, but macca was much more patient.
Macca looked pretty awesome last night against a dangerous opponent. If Haye gets past JMM we've got a fantastic fight coming up. And if Macca wins that fight, Enzo will be up there with Manny Steward.
Enzo was very impressive last night I thought this fight may have been too much for him as I had never really thought he'd amount to much. I thought he was another Darren Corbett, powerful, exciting but crude and lacking the skills to take him much further than the domestic/european stage. But last night he showed a vast improvement under Enzo Calzaghe. I now regard him as a genuine world class cruiserweight, but he still has a lot to prove as this is just one good win among numerous poor/decent opposition.
Enzo stopped Dominguez who Valuev couldn't so yes I think Enzo is comparable in power to every cruiserweight, including DING! Haye has done similar crazy ****, like ko'ing Gurov with just one punch, while Mormeck warred with him for ten rounds. Haye and Enzo are two of the hardest punchers at cruiser, in the world, P4P and even at heavy!
Haye hits harder than Ding, not Enzo, not even close. Don't be ridiculous. If Enzo hit on Haye and Ding's level, he'd have stopped a past it Braithwaite, hell, Guillermo Jones stopped him 2 years ago.... Mormeck didn't because Mormeck's power to me is not anything in the realm of the real CW hitters.
