Those losses, back to back, humiliatingly concluded with Enzo unable to absorb even rudimentary punishment or defend himself... he couldn't compete with the Adameks and Cunninghams of the world. Cunningham's no puncher, but he could flatten Enzo on current form.

I admired his confidence against Haye, and his willingness to fight the best in his division - but when the time came, he'd faced no one of David's calibre and was unprepared both by his trainer and himself. Saying things like "I'm faster than him, stronger than him and the bestter boxer..."

A career spent delusional, and finished painfully by a journeyman and a prospect. I can imagine he wants to come back, but losing the way he did is all the warning he needs that he better not come back.

 

every sport takes years of honing. I'm not telling him to fight Machida in 3 months. However for a man who is already an athlete, world class boxer and says he does some sort of grappling he is ready as any. Guys like Bisping, Belfort, Liddell amongst others have shown how effective striking can be with the right strategy.

enzo could be heading the same way as judah - people aren't scared of what he has. they know if they go get it, they can get the ko. that confidence in your opponents can ruin your chances.

 

if he came back then he should fight norton to regain the confidence. then he can try to get a rematch with ola cos that is winnable.

this is true but stylistically ola will stand off more and be defensive. through pure activity enzo could get the win if he plays it safe.

 

his confidence looked shot more than anything in his last fight. he got sparked by great shots in the ola and hayes defeats. against lebedev he boxed like he was scared of getting hit and hurt and if he cant overcome that then he's finished.

 

Couldn't let his hands go in his last fight and took a serious beating.

Good on him. Enzo is a sound fellow. I just wish he started life with a decent promoter. He was wrapped in cotton wool and when unleashed to world class talent he was simply found badly wanting. Enzo needs plenty of confidence builders, a good coach that can harness his punching power even better and to work his way up the ranks from the bottom. he's young and has plenty of time on his hands if he wants to make a dent.
