Enzo is definitely one of the sport's nice guys. Very friendly and always willing to chat, sign, pose for photos with fans etc. He also does a lot of gruelling things for charity (like running a mile up hill with a bag of cement on his back!:admin) I see him quite a lot at the amateur shows and have a chat now and then. He shows his support for the sport at grass roots level and encourages all the youngsters coming through. :good
I like him too, seems a good guy. I don' havea good enough knowledge of the rest of the division to argue his standing but he is very good.
Also got to feel for him in his current situation - part of the Calzaghe camp yet promoted by Warren. Bet there's a few awkward moments there. Can't actually recall which fight he first signed up with Warren for, but I remember his pro debut was on a Barry Hearn show in Cardiff, on the undercard of Ayers-Sarmiento I.
After he split with Hearn he was with Maloney initially I think.... When the Franks worked together.... I remember he had just won the young boxer of the year, when I fought Buckley at Bethnal Green and Maloney asked my manager to speak to Mathew Ellis about a potential match up.
