Good thread. Enzo was on a nice run before he got clobbered by Haye. As bizarre as it seems in retrospect, plenty of people thought he had a decent chance in that one.

The thing with Braithwaite is that he was a victim of the increase in the cruiser limit from 190 to 200. It was the start of the shift from a division of big (or fat) light-heavies to a division of small heavyweights cutting down.

Braithwaite wasn’t big enough to be a major player in the 200lbs division. The same could arguably be said of Enzo, although his chin don’t hold up any better at 175 when he dropped down. When Enzo fought Braithwaite they both weighed well inside the cruiser limit.

True, like the feather fisted Maidana, who he nearly had out of there in the first round with a body shot.

Enzo was a tough guy who could whack butblimited in actual boxing skills, no doubt he doesnt get the credit he deserves and i do believe its because the Haye loss. Prople see what Haye was at HW and judge the people he defeated by it. When in reality Haye is one of the best CWs of all time and it just didn't translate at HW for him. Also Enzo fought on too long and should never have gone to LHW.

Didn’t translate at heavyweight? He was world champion and only lost to the best heavyweight of the post Lewis era. Not saying Haye was a great heavyweight but he made millions out of two farcical fights with Tony Bellew having suffered career ending injuries so clearly people still believed...

I'll always remember Enzo fondly for that drunken walk thing he did after Haye splattered him.

    Lovely times.

Haye hit him when he shouldn't have, everyone knows that, it was totally uncalled for and he was lucky not to be disqualified, Roy Jones lost his 0 for doing exactly the same thing, ya'll musta forgot.........!

Won me a free nights beer off drunken Welsh students so I weren't moaning, I had Haye in the first 3 and gave them everything else. Free beer tastes amazing when off idiots.

I'll say one thing for Enzo, he was entertainment personified and due to his vulnerability was must watch viewing. His body attack and punching power in general was world class, unfortunately his durability was on occasion lacking but he certainly had the cojones.

Sadly to most casual fans he is only remembered for the haye defeat, apart from Hayes impressive stoppage the second best thing about that fight was haye not turning up for the press conference and Warren having a hissy fit and haye and booth laughing at warren
