davidson-robinson :deal Ruben Dario Palacios a columbian featherwieght is in england to look good and beat interesting, local fav john davidson. sadly palacios doesnt pass a hiv test so in a mad flurry of calling anybody who will fight on such short notice. a 13-9 journeyman featherweight gets a telephone call while eating pie and mash, gets sent into a world title fight for the now vacant wbo belt. my point is that at short notice anything, anybody will do. enzo was ready to fight banks. he might fo got sprked in the first we dont know. point is that he was ready, willing and able. alverez has a chance of a upset and i for one will be behind him. but if enzo wants to proove somthing he has to take his man out as early and as effeincntly as possible. sobot for calzaghe was the same
Enzo is not a bad fighter and certainly not the worst fighter to hold a world belt by a long shot. This matchup is a joke of a title fight, but Enzo is a legit top 10 Cruiser.
I'm not saying that Enzo is a bad fighter. I'm merely pointing out that the circumstances under which he wins his title belts (it's pretty safe to assume that he'll win this fight) are rather unsatisfying as far as winning championships are concerned. Whether or not a suitable replacement was able to be found is inconsequential. He won his first title by default, didn't even have to fight a legit contender for it as he had already beaten a faded Domniguez to become the interim champion. Not his fault that Nelson retired with an injury but it doesn't change the fact that he really didn't have to do much to become champion. Looks even more suspect when you have Haye going to France to beat Mormeck for his belts. Now Enzo's fighting a guy who's not even really a cruiserweight. Just a "have gloves will travel" fighter that the WBO found deep in the depths of their sorry rankings. I do not blame Enzo for this debacle but it still doesn't change the fact that he will become a 2-time champion in dubious fashion.
