Haye keeps his left low for a reason, it's the teaser. He don't get hit much over that left hand anyway. I haven't got that much of a problem with it

Haye's defense troubles me I must say. If Macaranelli does connect I doubt very much Haye's whiskers will take it.

Still going for Haye by early KO though.

I was beginning to wonder if the welsh even give a **** about their own boxers anymore!

But I hanker for the day I meet a welsh version of myself, but ive almost given up hope of ever finding one...

Do welsh nationalsts even exist? In all my time posting on assorted forums, I have yet to meet a welshman who doesnt regard themselves as british first, welsh second.

Strike, are you SURE your bad experience in Wales wasnt just a bad dream after a night on the booze & a cheese & Tomato pizza just before you went to mr kipland?

No. EVERY single person I went to Uni with and people I have met since have said the same. Went there supporting Wales against other nations etc, left supporting anyone but Wales. For individual sportsmen I don't care, I support Calzaghe etc.

But in terms of football and rugby there is not a nation on earth I would not support against Wales.

They are more nationalistic in many places than Scots. For example...there was a strong movement to make ALL none Welsh students coming to Welsh Unis take Welsh language as a subsidary course or not be accepted.

Most of Cardiff do not speak Welsh and the money that comes in from students is IMMENSE. I cannot stress how much the economy has gained from having popular Universities and they wanted to undo it all out of stupid pride about their language.
There are lots of very wealthy Cypriot students etc who are coming to terms with English as it is, imagine telling these law students who are paying a fortune to learn there that they must also learn Welsh or not be accepted.

The Welsh Language idiots also wont use "english words" for things that have arrived in the recent years. Even though we happily use french words etc and other nationalities have no problem saying "Internet" even though it is an English word, the Welsh language lot sit down to devise a Welsh word to replace things that are English.:patsch:lol:

The amount of money they have pissed down the drain on pushing the language and forcing all signs to be dual language etc...is unbelievable. That money could have been spent teaching the kids Chinese so that they have an advantage over others in future business opportunities. Or Spanish simply for general use when travelling abroad as it is widely spoken and very common in the US too.

But no...they have ploughed god knows how much money, time and legislation and have managed to increase the percentage speaking it by about 1%.

Muppets.

Almost every single person I know would support Wales over anyone they were playing. A lot because they're patriotic, others because they were fed up of the likes of Ian Woosnam and Colin Jackson being British when they won, Welsh when they lost. I daresay it's the same with every sport and right through the ages. English arrogance when it comes to sport is something I've witnessed nowhere else in the world.

As for the uni experience, most of those 'foreigners' I went to uni with (I live in and went to Swansea uni) now live in Wales. Swansea uni was often hailed as one of if not the best student experience and Aberystwyth and Cardiff unis were always up there too. You would be greatly surprised at the number of students who stay here and get jobs.

Nobody wants to 'undo' anything. I have never heard of 'the Welsh language people' replacing words like 'Internet' or anything of that nature. Signs here have been bilingual for years, the money situation is totally irrelevant. You need to realise that for thousands of people, Welsh is their first language. There would be a cost attached to 'weeding' out Welsh speakers over the years even if money hadn't been ploughed into making signs bilingual etc. Either way, money would be 'wasted' as you put it. Don't say the amount of money spent on pushing the language is unbelievable when you know nothing about it.

As for the thread, I'd love to see Enzo win. Chins are equally questionable, I don't see Haye's speed being a big problem, I'm sure sparring with Joe would have prepared Enzo for that, in part. Enzo boxed well against Braithwaite and I've no doubt he's improved since. I would give the edge in power to Haye, but would love Enzo to catch him in the 5th.

This is a tough fight to call, Enzo has never been in with anybody of any class who had something left, and Haye has technical flaws like leaving his left hand down on his waist, the smart money is on Haye simply because nobody knows what Enzo can do against a good fighter, and thats the reason i have to go with Haye, ive seen him against Thompson, Bonin and Mormeck, i know what Haye can do, Enzo has been in with bums and has-beens, i dont know how good he REALLY is ....

That was not the point. I expect you guys to support Wales over everyone else, and so you should do, you are Welsh. I do not for one second expect you not to be patriotic, but I don't expect you to care more about England losing than simply supporting your own team and that was my and many other peoples impression whilst living in Cardiff.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying I did not enjoy my time in Wales or that Cardiff is not a great city. I cannot talk about Swansea as I did not live there, I have friends who have stayed in Cardiff I was not suggesting you are randomly abused on the street for not being Welsh or that people rush to get out as soon as possible. Cardiff is a great city with a lot going for it. My point was that had you made Welsh Language compulsary for all students, yes the levels of people applying would plummet and it would be a stupid and pig headed move.

The fact is that about 80% of the population of Wales have English as a first language. And things like signs should be bilingual according to the demograph. Most of the 20% first language as Welsh people live in rural areas and North of Cardiff. To have bilingual and Welsh placed first out of blind patriotism and stubbornness in a city where I almost never heard a word of Welsh uttered by a Welsh person is pathetic, childish and wasteful of resources.

I do not want Welsh speakers "weeded out" that would be ridiculous. I do not have any desire to see Welsh as a language die out, if people speak it...fine. I think spending large sums of money pushing it and spending time and effort trying to make it appear to be more significant than it is, is both pointless, stupid and again a waste of money, money that comes from Britain as a whole and not from some domestic Welsh source.

And don't tell me what I know nothing about. I most certainly do know about the amount of money wasted as I read about projects whilst at Uni there and bothered to research it myself, and I take a fairly keen interest in politics.
Here are some stats straight from the Welsh Assembly Government....
Spending on promotion of Welsh Language in Wales from 2003-2006...

£37 million....here are some of the money well spent schemes....

- An additional £1 million for the Twf project to persuade parents to speak Welsh with their children. ( A million pounds spent on trying to "persuade" parents to speak Welsh to their kids, no not a waste of funds at all :patsch)

- doubling the Welsh medium incentive supplement in support of teachers training through the medium of Welsh to £230k from 2004-05. (In other words giving greater financial support to teachers training in Welsh than other teachers....fantastic idea that, rather than simply aid the training of teachers, discriminate against those who do so in English....the nations most spoken language.:roll:)

For an entire breakdown of the spending in that three year period....

http://wales.gov.uk/news/archivepress/localgovculpress/locgovpress2002/753572/?lang=en

That covers solely the 3 years mentioned, the total spending is much higher, but if you would rather pump millions into promoting a language that only 20% of the country speak rather than on health care, support for pensioners, education that will actually give the youth a head start into business etc then that is your perogative.

What are the Welsh so proud of?

To me Wales is just a large county in England.

To be honest Tony, I think most welsh consider themselves just a large part of England.
The very fact the welsh posters wont even put up a fight just tells me they are happy to be Englands *****.

Poor big Enzo, his countrymen wont even back him...

Which leads me back to you again Strike, why the **** do you have a problem with the welsh? Cos on ESB at least, they kiss english ass!

As I always say, at least most of us jocks back our own gainst an english fighter when they cross swords, but with the welsh, they all want to see Haye win!!!
& to think I used to see the welsh as Celtic brothers, how wrong was I?

Learn to love the welsh Strike, the way they love you englanders. If I am so wrong, where is the welsh resistance to the thought of David Haye winning? Cos by **** if Enzo was a jock, the war of words here would be at fever pitch by now!
So far though, the silence from the welsh is DEAFENING. Accept it Strike, you called the welsh wrong, cos they ****in love you englanders.
The proof is in the pudding my friend.

Mate you really have no clue no offence.

I am Welsh and I can tell you now that I am Welsh first and British second like every other Welshman I know. And you wouldn't want to try coming down my neck of the woods and state that most of us see us as being a part of England!

Oh, and Enzo will KO Haye around round 7 or 8 :good
