If Ding's reading this, would you take the low-payday and crap options that Frank Warren would most likely offer you just to get a crack at Enzo and the title ? Knowing that if you won, so many options would be available to you then.
From the very beginning, I offered to take short money just to get the fight because I knew once I was champ it would come. Warren for some reason, just won't have it. We have been trying all day yesterday to no avail. There is somthing about me that Warren doesn't like. It saddens me actually, because I really deserve it.
Just keep training, stay in shape and be ready to fight, because the chances are that Rob Calloway ISN'T going to take this fight and it might be that your the only option he has left. Warren might have no other option but for Enzo to fight you, and knowing this he's gonna wait until the very last minute to call you up and give you your chance. I initially thought this Sellers **** was too much, even for Warren. My theory was that he was going to announce sellers, then knowing that the fight wouldn't come off, announce Rob Calloway instead. That way, people say "well, thats an improvement, Calloways a decent cruiser" because the Ezra Sellers ****-take has softened the blow, whereas in reality they ought to be saying "why is Enzo fighting Calloway when he should be in with someone dangerous ie The Ding?" You may still get this fight Ding so keep training and be ready to do us a favour and beat Enzo's arse.
As a British fight fan, I can safely say that Frank Warren will not let you get in the ring with Enzo. I've seen it with Enzo's previous fights and with Calzaghe's whole career until he finally stepped up and fought Lacy.
HAHA! Rob posts on Boxrec. We have Ding, they have Calloway. I hope these two fight to settle which board got the best fighters.
Enzo's in a protective coccoon over there. Only undeserving fighters will get a crack at his belt. I like the attitude though. Zab took short money against Spinks and parlayed that into some major paydays down the road so your thinking is correct.
you cant compare enzo's opposition to Calzaghe....Calzaghe has fought many former champs including eubanks..and a lot of top tens and top 25's. enzo is really disapointing.
I think what he is getting at is that, even with someone as ridiculously talented Joe, the truly career defining fights took nearly a decade. Warren wanted to shield Calzaghe from harms way as long as he could to make as much $$$ of him as possibl. Now Warren has to work with someone as average as Enzo, his job will be a lot harder to protect him. Pitting him against Darnell would be far to risky for him. Good old Ezra. Sellers was p4p one of the hardest punchers of the 90's I reckon. He truly had sickening power and probably still has enough to worry Enzo.
Agreed! Enzo is a talented fighter but Sellars was well past his prime and had done little to deserve a shot recently.
