I'll have to visit the history section more often. My grandpa was the one who told me to watch these guys, I'm only 23 now so I'm still learning but I'm loving the golden era of the lighter weights.
25 myself, there's always new stuff to pick up and learn with such an extremely deep and rich history. Classic is where I tend to do most of my posting. Less static and bull****, no trolls, etc.
With the internet these days, it's amazing our access to info on old timey boxing. Just waiting for those Greb tapes to surface............
A part from the bad stoppage I was thinking people want to put everyone in top 100 ATG but they forgot that the sport has 100 years of history and so many great fighters.
When I read the title I expected to see some ye olde days British stoppage, not this! Saw this before though... damn!
Holy Moly.... Beau Jack got some free dental work there. ------------- But you know, fighters today are really so much better than all them fighters of the past, because of the better nutrition & stuff......
What? These are lightweights? I thought I was looking at middleweights. Does anyone exist today that punches with that type of authority and leverage?
Beau Jack used to fill up Madison Square Garden when he fought, poor guy wound up broke and shining shoes in Florida. There was a story of him and Rocky Marciano meeting when he was shinning shoes. Marciano turned down offer of free shine, told Jack 'You are too great of a champion to shine my shoes." Those older era guys respected each other. Nowadays some would take shoe shine, someone would take photo with phone camera, and laugh about it. Those fights were brutal, refs would let them go a lot. Maybe a thread on old fight that needed stopping like Bratton-Galivan would be good idea.
