Derry asked for the fight. With his new appearance Hearn will probably rename him Diego Mathews, the tough teak Mexican warrior and the casuals will be non the wiser.

 

To be fair I would have rather them dragged Derry out of retirement than this Spanish fella.

 

Shocker of a card. Would of loved to of seen Crolla in with a decent opponent

 

Not sure how good the Spaniard is, obviously he doesn't seem a big puncher. You never know with the Spaniards, normally very good or very poor. Derry would have cost more money, so would the likes of Coyle and Flanagan. They know Crolla is gaving a cash out fight and their not giving him a fight to build for future, so they have went for cheap option.

I am interested to see who will fight Bakole on a weeks notice. Hearn said they want a good opponent and are speaking to several HWs.

I like how Hearn offered Bakole to fight Dubois in December as a far cheaper alternative to Allen, knowing full well Warren will avoid it like the plague.
