    Could you elaborate on the comparison between Fischer and Whitaker? Clearly the two calculate to a high degree, and at their best were untouchable, but beyond that.

    Not anything too deep.

    I see Whitaker the boxer as a prodigy chess player, a grand master, endlessly adaptable, a fighter who could out think and outbox an opponent from any range and across all directions in the ring.

    Moreso than anything I envision him as a fighter who's mind is a mix between calculating, like you said, but also pliable and capable of change at a moments notice and without preocupation. He played a fighter like rubix cubes, finding what needed to be found and moving with it.
