He meant upset like unexpected win... not upset like being a mayweather fan who goes out back and beats his dog for half an hour and then cries himself to sleep.

Arreola was very highly ranked contender(and still is). Maybe Sosnsoswski beating Vitali would be closer.

I think people over-exagerrate the odds on that fight.

You see fights all the time where the favorite is 1/50, but the underdog is something like 15/1.

I'm pretty sure that's what it was for Tyson vs Douglas.

Vitali was paying 1/45 against Sosnowski. Does that make Sosnowski a 45 to 1 underdog? not really. Same with Tyson - Douglas

Pac and May, well they only fight big fights really, even in "stay busy fights" they are likely face big names. Hypothetically I that guy, Ricky Hatton's brother, I don't remember his name, if he gets a fight against May/Pac (I know very unlikely) and wins, yes that would be equally big upset.

It's usually about half. If Boxer A is -3000 or 30-1, then Boxer B would be +1500 or a 15-1 dog.

It really couldn't be either Manny or Floyd because they fight competition that's better than 42-1, so if Margarito won it would be most a 10-1 upset or something in that neighborhood. No way would it be 42-1.

I peronally can't think of a fight that would rate that sort of upset. Wlad would never get these odds because his chin is suspect enough that the odds would likely never get to 42-1 no matter who he fought. His lose to Brewster or Sanders may have been something like 25-1 or so, but I'm simply guessing, as I don't know the odds of those fights.. The bigger of the upsets was Sanders because at that time Wlad had just blasted through Mercer and he looked almost indestructible except for perhaps a fight against Lewis.

I actually would never beat a dog, but for real, I would be on the border of tears if that happens :rofl:rofl:rofl The funny part is that I have absolutely no idea why I'd even be upset. Maybe I just want to believe in the mystique of mayweather, ya know. I wnat to believe during my time of being fan I witnessed one of the greatest ever. And if Pacman beats him, that ruins that for me :bart

Why? Great fighters fight the greatest, and they lose to great fighters. None of the cream of the crop GOATs in anything are undefeated.

I was just going from memory on a few things I've bet on. To be honest the odds in boxing are usually so **** that I rarely waste my time.
