Erdei vs Fragomeni was a candidate for Europen FOTY. It was a war!

I scored it a draw but if pushed i would say Erdei may have edged it.

    Round 1 Erdei
Erdei scored the jab throughout and landed right
hooks to the body and was generally more active.

Round 2 Erdei (very compettive round)
Good competitive round but i just felt Erdei kept him out by being a bit
more accurate and landing the better shots, he closed better to.

    Round 3 Erdei
Fragomeni started well but faded, he also got hit with the cleaner shots by
Erdei. The quality is clearly in coming form Erdie who is landing accurate shots

    Round 4 Erdei
Fragomeni had the chance to take the round but stepped of the gas toward the
end and let Erdei close out what was already a tight round.

    Round 5 Fragomeni
Fragomeni chipped away the whole round put more pressure on than he had in
previous rounds and was more purposeful, Erdei was not as effective landing
    as he was earlier

    Round 6 Fragomeni
He really has upped the tempo and was overwhelming Erdei with activity
in this round, he is clearly landing the harder shots to. Erdei tried a rally mid
    round but not enough imo.

    Round 7 Fragomeni
Fragomeni is absolutely pouring it on, Erdei is mainly effective when he has time and
space but Fragomin is all over him overwhelming him, he looks like he could be tiring to.

    Round 8 Erdei
Erdei halted the slide and sucked it up to take this round on clean punching

    Round 9 Erdei
Good round for Erdie he kept Fragomeni in his place for the most part by being more active and landing
    the cleaner more accurate shots

    Round 10 Fragomeni
he was more aggresive and landed the harder shots, Erdei was laning to but his shots had nothing
on them they were more to keep fragomeni of him

    Round 11 Fragomeni
I thought he landed the harder punches where as the shots Erdei was throwing were missing for
    the most part.

Round 12 Fragomeni terrific round !!
I thought Fragomeni took it on his aggression & consistency

Great fight. Fragomeni seemed to tighten up his defence as the fight wore on, Erdei showed lots of heart
and dug deep 2/3 times but it was hard to credit some of late work he did as apose to his early work because
even though he was landing at times there was nothing on his punches.

Just watched it... Great fight! No holding, no running, lots of leather flying.

A draw would have been nice. Fragle-rock fought his ass off, but I quess Zolt landed the cleaner shots and edged more rds.

HQ video on youtube,,, in case anybodys interested.

I think Wlodarczyk has a great chance to KO Erdei.

I was able to watch that fight just recently, on youtubeTV. What a war, definately a FOTY candidate. Respect to both fighters, Erdei came in at the LHW weight limit and fought it out with a much heavier man (to be fair Fragomeni is still a small CW). Erdei dominated the first rounds with his superior skills and speed, but then he tired and Fragomeni came on strong - I thought Fragomeni would break down Erdei down the line, but Erdei showed heart (and chin) and hang in there. Fragomeni is a classic swarmer, he just keeps coming, amazing for a 40 year old man. He proved that he has an iron chin, Erdei caught him with clean, hard shots the whole evening, to no effect at all. Both men took much punishment, and although I think Erdei rightly deserved the nod, he should return to LHW as he is just too small for CW.

Erdei won´t defend his title he said so even before the fight. He took it on 3 weeks notive because the unification fight with Cloud at lhw fell through. That´s why he was 18 pounds lighter than Fragomeni.

    I had it 116-113 Erdei I think.

I´d love to see Arslan-Fragomeni. Both similar style, both similar in age. Would be a grear great fight.

The first half of the fight was mostly Erdei outboxing Fragomeni then in the second half as Erdei tired it become a war of atrition.

Euro fighters get a lot of criticism for their lack of fire/heart but these guys showed bags of it, particularly Erdei who was flagging a couple of times but sucked it up to come back to my surprise. I thought Erdei was another Euro bum with no skill, whilst he is not Mayweather he does have pretty decent skill & speed.

    Great fight.:bbb

Certainly the best "German" fight in years. Erdei showed he is a proud man, too bad he doesn't get big fights against the American LHWs (it's not entirely his fault).
