I was a little kid when I first saw Butterbean fight. He hadn't turned pro yet and had built up a following from competing in toughman competitions. I was at one of the Toughman Tournaments in A.C when Butterbean took over the building. Butterbean actually had to cut weight in order to make the Toughman Tournament 400 lb. limit. He had his own fan club at the arena, and there were signs all over the place dedicated to him. He destroyed his opponents in the prelim rounds before losing a tough fight to a guy who weighed about 180 lbs. in the final. Butterbean would go on to amass a professional record of 77-8-4 with 58 KO's on his way to becoming "The King of the 4 Round Heavyweights". Not really hate, but he was a joke, circus act for boxing. I once saw him live. He is a very nice guy though.
remember when he slipped in mma he was so fat that he couldnt get up, the guy just sat on him and butterbean was moving his legs like a turtle he was stuck on the floor for around 2 minutes, too fat to get back
