Eric Lucas comes out of retirement

he's 38 years old. Most of you will remember him for getting his ass whipped by a prime RJJ (he showed alot of heart in that fight). Lucas wants to get back in the ring early 2010

Linares is a hard dude to get news about. Reports are that before fighting Salgado he got ktfo by 2 prospects in sparring.

IMO since his comeback from injury he has not looked the same. Alot of people don't know that he serisouly injured his right shoulder in training in May 2008, forcing him to give up his title.

In his comeback fight he looked rusty against a nobody Wyber Garcia although he still handled him easy. Then it took him 8 rounds to clear out some unknown Mexican and then he got KTFO in 1 round by Salgado. I'm not saying he's ruined, but since his return he hasn't yet shown the sort of form he was in when he stopped Oscar Larios and Gameliel Diaz back to back.

sometimes an injury can **** up a career. I hope thats not the case with Linares.

 

Serious injuries can permanently affect an athlete's ability in any sport, not just boxing. And in boxing the difference between getting knocked out or not often has more to do with boxing ability than a glass jaw.

Sometimes skills can go a longer way than an iron chin.

Linares actually was more dominant against Oscar Larios and Gameliel Diaz than against Whyber Garcia and Perez, who are much lower caliber fighters. To me that indicates that he was not in top form.
