Erick Rosa "Mini Manny Pacquiao" boxer Dominican Republic 6 wins (2KO) undefeated holder of the WBA Regular belt, has a straight pass to face Thammanoon Niyomtrong "Knockout CP Freshmart" Thai boxer who has just beaten Chayaphon Moonsri (the Thai who had broken Mayweather's record of victories). Niyomtrong at 24 wins (9KOs) the Thai is undefeated and has held the WBA title since 2017 and has been super champion since 2020. Erick Rosa has just lost the bidding, following disagreements on the part of the Dominicans not to allow the fight to take place in Thailand. The Thais are in the process of organising the fight, possibly in Cambodia. Just for the record, Erick Rosa stole Vic Saludar from the Dominican Republic, so I can understand why Niyomtrong doesn't want to fight him there either. The strawweight category is getting really interesting, without counting the Shigeoka brothers, Oscar Collazo, Panya Pradabsri, Hasanboy Dusmatov, DianXing Zhu, Melvin Jerusalem, Daniel Valladares, Goki Kobayashi and so on. It's a great class, but we still don't know whether Chayaphon Moonsri "Wanheng Meenayothin" 55-3-0 has retired or not. Although I can't see anyone beating the Shigeoka brothers, who must be feared by everyone.
I am not a Rosa fan and I would love to see Niyomtrong beat his butt. Here's to hoping the fight gets made.
Same ! Erick Rosa is really limited, but he can do a robbery with judges in the Dominican Republic like with Saludar. I think the Thais are right to prepare a neutral ground (Cambodia) is perfect.
