I know noise regulations are stopping Zuffa from announcing a guaranteed venue for this but I'm assuming this will be on the undercard for Silva-Sonnen II. http://www.espn.co.uk/ufc/sport/story/140714.html Very good step up for Silva IMO. He handles Pierce and he's a legit' contender. Pierce is a stocky workhorse and could force Silva to dig deep (almost certainly will) so I think it's good, especially because Silva is coming off a 'loss' and Pierce is, but neither disgraced themselves and showed they can continue to be matched against other fringe contenders. How does it go down ESB? Intriguing matchup? Is it just me or are the Brazilian and Rory MacDonald on a collision course? :hey
Oh my......can´t wait !!!! I think will be there..... Looking forward to Erik....He will be something in the near future IMO......
I think he will too Vic, but UFC want to schedule the event to air 'regular time' in the U.S, so the major stadiums appear to be of limits as the show won't start til 1-2 a.m and local laws apparently don't allow a lot of noise at that hour (standard procedure in most places I think) so the UFC are stuck. They seem really eager to put on a fight there though, so hopefully they will sort things out. Would be great for you my man :thumbsup
Yep..I just hope they pick a stadium like Morumbi......is simply much better than PAcaembu..... will be great, I´m not sure if I will go, I think so..I hope so ...my Dad wants to...he is a big MMA fan (bigger MMA fan than me actually) since the Vale-Tudo days....let´s see, will be hard to get tickets.....
MMA is my 'modern' sport and I can watch the old timers anytime ;-) My Dad likes Jon Jones, but isn't really into MMA, though he'll watch when I show him something I think is worth watching. He's more of a boxing fan, although he's more into cycling than anything Although I like cycling, combat sports are my main thing of course.
Yeah, Combat Sports are my main thing as well.....I like Football too, but no comparison.... My Dad simply banned Muay Thai fights with him in the sofa, Flea......it´s too boring he says ...I just made some great DVDs with some of the current Lumpinee champions.. and okay you can say some of the fights aren´t really exciting, but the old man just hated ("they don´t punch!")....had to put some Chuck Liddell on the damn thing.....
Oh, dear. And of course, football is massive in my house. I guess that's me and my Dad's main sport actually (so obvious I didn't think of it) although combat sports surpassed football for me at about 13 years old R_F: agreed, but at 170 it's something he will be coming up against frequently, and Pierce is an entry level of the top end of that style. I'd prefer to see Silva Vs Ebersole though :yep
http://blogs.theprovince.com/2012/03/22/ufc-news-silva-sonnen-rematch-rio-dana-white/ "Dana White Says Rio Soccer Stadium for Silva-Sonnen II at UFC 147" Damn ! It´ll be in Rio again.....nothing for São Paulo this time...****.....
I really like this fight. Pierce is gonna clinch and try to grind him down. Not the most exciting fighter, but I respect his game. Hopefully Erick Silva knocks him the f out in the 1st round.
Not happening. Not only will the event be in Rio, but Pierce is fighting the Brazilian that fought Ellenberger a few fights back. Maybe Silva-MacDonald will be the big co-main event in Canada? :happy
Rory is set to fight Che Mills, but a fight with Silva is much better. It sets back a promising prospect, though. Typically the UFC doesn't like to do that.
Think Silva will be in for a rude awakening (No Rick Rude) think Mike takes this he is one tough mother ****er.
