Main event on Showtime a week from Saturday. Interesting crossroads showdown at 154lbs. Both men desperately need a win at this level to gain readmission into the contention fold. Gallimore has a 1½″ advantage in height, but Lubin has a one inch reach advantage. Lubin is ranked #2 by the WBC and #5 by the WBA. Gallimore is currently unrated by any major org. Combined 70% KO rate.
My loyalties are torn here... my two "guys" at light middle for the last few years have been J-Rock and Lubin, in that order (followed by Tony Harrison) - and while the former has already climbed back up the mountaintop and doesn't really need the vicarious shine of a Gallimore win here to drive his own stock up, it'd be nice to see (plus I like Gallimore himself, definitely more than folks like Hurd, the Charlos, etc...but less than Lubin and way less than Williams) ...but on the other hand, Lubin probably has a more realistic shot of hanging with the uppermost tier and Gallimore's skull would make a useful foothold at this point in his career...
