Kids is a flash, with good power, great technique, just a bit over anxious at times. At 19, and already 8-0, and fighting at LMW......this kid could be the heir to GGGs throne. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H299Dw3uMm8
He's flash but open. Needs a LOT of developing and I'm still not sure he will ever live up to the hype some are giving him.....however he will always be fun to watch
He's not sitting on his shots, trying to replicate a certain WW ATG:rofl....Lubins a strong youngster and will only get bigger and stronger. He takes a helluva shot too. Which is more than many can say in or around his weight class. He's being moved fairly quickly into C level opposition for such a young kid. By the time he's ready for a big fight, he'll have plenty of experience and the power will be there. :thumbsup
Lubin's being manuevered to fight for Jermain Taylor's soon to be vacated IBF MW title. Fighting on the undercard of Taylor vs Mora. If Mora wins this, and Lubins fighting a top 50 LMW/MW, I know he'll be fighting for that title in 2015.:good:good:good
Kid's got potential! I'll keep an eye out for him. Hopefully he gets the chance to develop so he can iron out some of the kinks and grow into his "man strength". I think pushing him towards a 2015 title shot may be rushing him too quickly.
I did a thread on Lubin but his last match gave me cause for concern, he may very bad chin issues, Norberto Gonzalez drops him relatively hard at 9:00, with guys like Lemieux, Khytrov and GGG he would be well advised to avoid MW as much as he can. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sGsD7goEO4
You and I see eye to eye on much of the top talent in the division, though I can not purport to spend near as much time posting on them or making threads detailing their fights. What again was the final result of this fight? A 7-1 route or would you be generous and give the 26 fight veteran a gimme rd over the 8 fight novice. I seen Boo-Boo Andrade dropped just as hard vs a lesser puncher in Martirosyan, and he went on to win that fight and get major hype from it. From myself in fact as he proved his salt, coming back from the hard early KD and dominating the rest of the fight vs a quality foe. Lubin's got some defensive deficiency's true......for instance, the upright Ortho fighter is gonna have that lead R hand on him, and he's got to be looking for it every time out. But......those deficiency's are correctable, especially in a 19 yo kid. As for the weight. Cmon....he's clearly a full framed MW. He is just going thru the motions before bulking up and becoming more of a puncher.:think
:good:good:good I agree, but his mgmt seems keen on quick development. They're taking risky fights early on, and it's paying off. :think Unlike Canelo, Lubin is already fighting better competition in his 8th fight than canelo had by his 25th when he stepped up vs Michel Rosales.
Canelo is bigger than GGG. Vasquez is as small as Gamboa. They were similar age when they fought. Vasquez has NEVER beat ANYONE of over 140lbs. JCCJr had a better resume before Canelo fought Floyd.atsch
I think Lubin has potential, but if he gets dropped by Norberto Gonzalez who isn't what I'd call a knockout artist, he will have serious problems at MW. Even if he corrects all of his flaws.
So how big was the 18 yo Vasquez when he fought the 15 yo Canelo, Considering the 28 yo Vasquez is a smallish LW, whereas the 25 yo Canelo is a MONSTROUS MW.atschatschatsch
Ummm, you're trolling, but Ill bite. Theres just so much wrong with this. You seem to have a poor understanding of how adolescent boys/men grow...which is odd because Im assuming you were one at one point. People grow and develop massively between the ages of 15 and 18. 2)Canelo isn't a "monstrous" MW. Fact is he hasn't weighed more than 155 on the scales. So hes hardly straining to make 160! 3. Vasquez is a very large 135(Hes taller than Canelo) and has fought as high as 147.
