Round 2

Ramírez is menacing Ziyatdinov with the line drive right jab from a diagonally-turned and partially leaned-askew stance. Ramírez exploding unpredictably with quick looping lefts that bang into Ziyatdinov's skull and put him in retreat. Ziyatdinov very cautious, showing little more than a jab and trying to keep his distance without beaching himself on the ropes or in corners.

Round 3

Ramírez with a high left jab on the brow and swift left cross on the stomach. Ziyatdinov dancing away, poking out a defensive left jab. Ramírez stalking, hopping excitedly up and down in place as he watches for any potential openings. Ramírez jabs to make Ziyatdinov pinch his wrists together and then drills the body with fast hard shots. Ramírez carrying his arms low as he flicks jabs up off the right knee into Ziyatdinov's face, and then slips counter jabs & right hands from Ziyatdinov with minimal head movement and shoulder dips. Another jab on the face, left on the body, this time followed with a right hook on the mush. Huge class disparity showing here through three rounds.

Round 4

Ziyatdinov runs out and throws a right hand while the bell is still ringing. Ramírez is tossing a high jab feint and then working the body with both hands. Ziyatdinov shelling up and weaving around while moving with a rocking-chair gait. Ramírez is darts in, attacking in straight lines first to freeze Ziyatdinov and then hammering the flanks with a roundhouse body assault. Ziyatdinov with a jab at Ramírez's throat but it's rolled with as he twists and steps away. Ramírez is jabbing the body to keep Ziyatdinov cautious. Combo by Ramírez blocked but bangs Ziyatdinov against the ropes.

Ramírez was a highly successful amateur, whose style has obviously translated well into the pros - so why has nearly all his opposition since debuting almost six years ago been garbage?

It wasn't even like he was spoiling away in Venezuela, either. He's been fighting internationally - just very slow to step up.

 

Round 5

Ramírez is busily feinting and jabbing to carve his way in. Ziyatdinov now moving less, willing to grind in the phonebooth and exchange body shots. Ramírez still getting the best of that, but Ziyatdinov upping his output and trying to gain some respect. Ramírez just misses a right hook as Ziyatdinov backs out. Lots of elbow-bucking on the inside, ref letting them work.
