Erik Bazinyan vs. Billi Facundo Godoy, 10 rounds @ super middleweight

 

Round 1

Bazinyan with some hard jabs on the body. Godoy is circling to his left and nervously putting out his own jab. Bazinyan countering past it, tapping Godoy on the nose and widening his eyes with the jab. Bazinyan is jabbing body or head on the outside, whichever is more open. Godoy trying not to give him any space available to shoot, using his legs to create distance. Godoy wobbles after taking a right hand and bouncing into the ropes, his leg giving way. Bazinyan stalks, lands another right. Godoy down, and the ref very generously rules it a slip. Godoy arguing with the ref about something, buying himself time. Lengthy conversation, wtf. I think he's claiming the ropes are too loose? Ref has his hands on his hips looking nonplussed. Now the ref is arguing with somebody at ringside. Bazinyan just watching all this bemusedly. Time in for the last 15 seconds of the round. Hard jab by Bazinyan.

Round 2

Bazinyan is feeding hard jabs into the vicinity of Godoy's head. Lots of circling and ducking by Godoy, looking a bit panicked. Desperate counter overhand right by Godoy grazes. Bazinyan walks him into the ropes, 1-2 blocked but a left hook stuffed heavily into the ribs. Godoy slashing out with a right past a Bazinyan jab feint. Bazinyan measuring his reactions, toying with him. Right hand by Bazinyan. A couple of right feints by Bazinyan. Jab on the body, cross up top by Bazinyan. Godoy presses in close then pushes away. Godoy loops a couple of rights in to body and then head. Bazinyan barely registers them. Jabs by Bazinyan, cutting up the cheekbones of Godoy.
