Erik Morales- did he actually have the biggest balls in boxing though??

Hey, I adored him as a fighter, I think he is a definite HOF all-time legend and have a hell of a lot of balls, but if you are going to say he had the biggest balls in history, I think I have to risk being attacked on here for weeks, and bring something up..

In the 3rd Pacquiao fight, he was brave. He knew inside myself his body and ability had faded and he couldn't win. He got put down, got back up, put down, got back up. Balls. But the fact is, he got put down again, and it was evident it was not a near-concussive KD. He stayed on his knee and shook his head at his corner, which I took to be a 'No Mas' gesture.

Now, before everyone goes crazy at me for saying this, I think he was RIGHT to stay down. He would only have got hurt more, he knew he was beaten by a younger, fresher guy, and could've risked serious injury and, I suppose, tarnished his legacy by getting a real horrible one-sided beating, so I do think he did the right thing, and it didn't tarnish him in my eyes at all. When a fighter realizes he is over-the-hill and physically can't do it anymore, if he has already gone to the well so many times and achieved what Erik had, we should embrace them.

As a Brit, I remember having the same feeling when Nigel Benn (legendary scrapper, like Erik he would drop his guard and take heavy punishment just to entertain and prove he was the toughest fighter around) turned his back on Steve Collins coz he'd twisted his ankle. Fair enough, he was injured.

But if you are going to say a guy has the BIGGEST balls in the HISTORY of boxing, it should be a guy who would never, ever quit unless he's going out on a stretcher. I can't actually think of anyone with bigger balls than Morales or Benn, but I'd like to think this forum could come to an acceptable answer.

I have to say, I thought Arthur Abraham fighting on v Edison Miranda with a broken jaw was pretty special. Massive balls.

Opinions on if Erik or someone else truly has the BIGGEST BALLS IN BOXING HISTORY????

Hilarity all round. I was trying to get a debate about who was boxing's bravest, I called it this as there is another thread in this forum called 'Erik Morales had the biggest balls in boxing'. Balls? Ho ho ho, thats a word for testicles. Forget it then children.

 

Any opinion then??
