One of my favorite boxers ever, and Morales seems like an even greater person than fighter. That says a lot about his character.

I don't like Barrera ... Morales was my guy ... he never hit anyone at a PC ... he never bitched up in the ring or ran away from a guy... more concerned with going out like a man rather than surviving -- and fought till he couldn't fight anymore.

i heard somewhere in the phil. press that there were plans for erik to be appointed as a consul of the philippines to his hometown of tijuana. i'm just not sure though if these plans actually pushed through.

We're all very blessed to have seen El Terrible in his prime and in such epic fights with MAB and Manny Pac.

Those were meant to be two seperate thoughts.

In his prime AND in those epic fights.

In fact you do make a good point indirectly, the fact that he was out of his prime facing off against a rising phenom in Pac Man in fight 1 shows how great Morales is. Especially the amazing show of bravado in round 12.

Remember when Morales would take a pounding, then hit his heart or his fists together before rattling off a brutal combo???

That's what made him great. He was like a cartoon, like a superhero.

His first fight with Pac was one of the most exciting things I've ever seen. In the 12th round, he turned southpaw (in a reasonably close fight), and started getting drilled by Pac, but wouldn't turn back.

Morales went out on his shield and was as true a warrior as any boxer ever.

Nice to see he's contributing to more than giving me something exciting to watch haha.

Your being extremely disrespectful of a fighter who gave us as many wars as Barrera. Pipe down, pipe down.

To be fair on the PC slapping, Morales called him a *** to his face. When someone calls you a *** to your face in front of a room full of people, you gotta do something.

And it's not like EM didn't have an occasional showing where one could argue he was out of line. Remember him posing when he KO'd that one guy.

    Amazing fighters.....future HOFers.

erik is a boxing promoter for young, up and coming mexican fighters. i guess he does this now full-time as he formerly did it in a part-time basis when he was still an active fighter.
