... a sure-fire Hall of Famer who had an incredible heart and fighting spirit to match his talent. Imo he's one of the top 5 Mexican fighters ever.

Quite simply, he represents everything that is good about boxing.

is a fighter who if you, as a boxing fan who had never seen him fight before, would assume would be a boxer more than a fighter (based purely on his physical assets relative to his weight class(es)). It could be said he had the ability to box a safety first fight, however, it was not his nature. Erik Morales was a warrior through and through. In his prime, as a big (but unbiased, i bleieve) Marco Antonio Barrera fan, i always believed Erik Morales woud leave the ring a winner whenever he stepped into the ring, except when he fought Barrera himself. As a sidenote it should be noted that in their respective, and synonomous primes, Erik Morales was arguably more consistent than his great rival, but when they shared a ring that rival was more determined to beat him than against any other man. I would also like to say that, in hindsight, it is Morales that i am more fond of. His win over Manny Pacquiao, late on in his career, when Morales was displaying somewhat one handed performances, obliterating world class and great opposition with his unrelenting right hand, must stand the test of time. At 122 pounds, Morales was a force of nature, at 126, a class act (and in my opinion a winner over the once again, less consistent Barrera). 'El Terrible' is quite simply the ****.

Sorry for the dramatic post guys, but he's a man i admire so much, and oh what a chin, in pound for pound terms, on par with that of Marvin Hagler for me.
