His first win over pacman seems more impressive by the day.

We all know erik morales was an atg, but he is the only man in the last 6 years to convincingly beat pacman.

i always thought morales > barerra.

It was a good win but lets not go overboard here, the Pac he beat wasnt close to the Pac you see today.

Probably but The Pac we see now is better than any version of Morales in my view.

After seeing Cotto lose all composure after going down I personaly have the greatest admiration for what Marquez did in the first fight with Manny, down 3 times in the 1st broken nose and all he fights back and gets a draw. I see that in a totaly different light now.

I would still say a Morales-Pac fight prime for prime would be a pick them fight. I know all the prime stuff is impossible because they peaked at different weights.
I used to say prime for prime Morales beats Pac 9 times out of 10.
However now i think it would go something like 5-5 or 6-4 to one of them.
The thing Morales did right was using that jab to keep Pac at bay and when needed he would stand and trade with him and actually take the punishment. something Cotto could not do.
After the 1st round i was sure Cotto was gonna win. He was boxing beautifully using his jab then the 2nd round Pac took which was ok and the 3rd Cotto was dominating the round but got careless. Same with the 4th round.
The thing is Cotto traded too much and he did not have the chin to do it. Had he boxed like he did the 1st round the whole fight i think he would have won a close fight.

I think that loss to Morales is what brought out the Moster in Pac, After that he realized he had to go balls to the wall when he trains for a fight!
