As has been reported Jorge Barrios has had court troubles due to hsi driving accident. He has been replaced by Francisco Lorenzo (35- This content is protected I seen his two fights against Soto. He is a very wild swinging Mayorga like fighter. Put up a decent acount of himself the second time against Soto. Also beat Nate Campbell, lost a MD to Jorge Linares, Lost a SD to Roman Martinez, beat Cristobel Cruz etc. I was looking forward to the Morales fight and this seems to be a good replacement. I figured at best theyd get a stiff, from what I've seen of Lorenzo this could be a treat. His wild punches should be countered by straight rights from Morales- Morales by UD What do you think?
No love for El Terrible? I know he's not gonna win a world title again but this is how he's making his living now. Its not like he's fighting total cans or up and comer monsters.
Well, it's a late sub, so not much to say. I just hope Morales knows what he is doing and doesn't get himself hurt. He's been in some tough wars and probably isn't going to get into that sort of class again.
Not a bad replacement for such short notice. Morales-Barrios would have been a brutal fight even at this stage of their careers but Lorenzo is a decent enough fighter and will put up a fight but Morales should beat him.
Barrios imo would have been a much better measure of Morales' strenghth, stamina, and ability to withstand pressure at these higher weight classes....... I would much have preffered Morales get tested vs Barrios, who has only lost to the best, before he takes on a beast in JMM this coming spring.
Barrios would have been good but either way I`ll still be rooting for `Terrible` no matter who he faces... just hope he looks good & wins.
