Or at the very least, if you want to include Manuel you should include Oscar.

I love so many of these guys, so have to have a go. Had fun watching a bunch of Canto and Saldivar fights to brush up today.

    1- Julio Cesar Chavez
    2- Ruben Olivares
    3- Salvador Sanchez
4- Miguel Canto - Established himself as the best flyweight of his era. Smooth boxer, great legs, slick.
5- Erik Morales - I agree with the basic point of this thread. Morales is a legend, so many great wins, and his losses only added to his greatness. I don't see how he can be placed higher than 5 though. Would've at least taken convincingly beating Barrera.
6- Marco Antonio Barrera - Hard to separate Barrera and Morales. Barrera proved himself the better fighter in their fights, but Morales' wins over common opponents Jones and Pacquiao have to count, and he had more success at higher weights.
7- Vicente Saldivar - Went on a great tear beating quality guys over a few years and maybe he should be higher, but doesn't have the quantity of those above him. He's as much a clever boxer as the punishing puncher he strikes you as, complete fighter.
8- Carlos Zarate - He's a deserved great, but doesn't have the wins the guys above him do. What other great did he beat? I think his vulnerability to speed and mobility was a bit exposed vs Gomez too, who picked him apart easily.
9- Juan Manuel Marquez - Wasted most of his career at featherweight, where his besst win was Manuel Medina. I thought Barrera edged him, and post feather wins outside of being the overrated Pacquiao's master aren't enough to match Barrera's greatness.
    10- Ricardo Lopez

Going into the fight with Raheem he was 48-2 (34). A strong case can be made that he should have been 50-0 at this point. The 3 fights with Barrera were close, no robberies either way, but I thought all 3 could have went to Morales. He didn't look right vs. Raheem with the exception of the 11th round. In his next two fights he was stopped by Pacquiao (KO10 and KO3)... who he had already beat.

He beat plenty of good fighters-

    Hecto Acero-Sanchez W12
    Daniel Zaragoza KO11
    Junior Jones KO4
    Wayne McCullough W12
    Marco Antonio Barrera W12
Guty Espadad Jr. W12 and KO3
    In-Jin Chi W12W1
    Paulie Ayala W12
    Jesus Chavez W12
    Carlos Hernandez W12
and Manny Pacquiao W12 among others.

You would be hard pressed to find another recent guy with such a stacked resume besides Pacquiao.

And he did all this before he turned 29 years old.

It was astonishing how he ran right through the quality of fighters that he did.

Not only that, OK he won a UD in 12 rounds but then got KOed twice versus the same fighter. In my eyes, that UD gets washed away, right?

Hell no!!!! the UD 12 on Pacquiao happened!

Pacquiao had 1 crack at a prime or near prime Morales and he was beaten.

That IMO is the biggest glaring hole on his resume for his entire career.
