So that's 2 past prime guys, plus Kovalev and Mayweather (who are probably the 2 best he's fought) are/was also both easily past prime.
So of his 7 most notable fights, 4 are past prime, and it's arguable that it's 5.
That's pretty bad (or good) timing. Morales is spot on here.

@robert ungurean, you mentioned Bivol? I agree that he's completely ignored the other LHW champs, but how do you see that fight going if Canelo miraculously wins tonight?

I was going to post yesterday that I didn't think this fight was going to be on the level & then thought better of it because I thought it sounded a bit conspiracy theory. But it's already not on the level before it's started. We can only guess at what other shenanigans are going to occur at fight time. I see people have noted how jovial Kov has been in the build up, even taking selfies with Canelo, I don't like the smell of that at all. Has he sold the win for a fat pay cheque?

Kovalev >> Donny LaLonde

 

Strange when DAZN started comparing Kovalev to LaLonde to promote the fight.

 

They did? I don't have DAZN.

What i do know is Kovalev is better and more dangerous than Donny and Canelo isn't imposing a catchweight on Kovalev. Ray brought Donny down to super middle where he won his 175 pound belt.

 

Also, Canelo at best got a draw in Lara and GGG 2

 

They promoted it as similar to SRL and Lalonde with Canelo being SRL (obviously) and so making Kovalev Lalonde.

Also when people said that Kovalev was a lot better than Lalonde they replied with either eye emojis or saying that Lalonde was a great champion.

 

Of course he hs .. he is old, weathered , far past his best, the worst of the three light heavyweight champs, vulnerable to the body and just coming off a brutal fight without enough time to heal .. it's a big cash out payday.
