I think that If Morales wouldve stayed at LW and fought some decent contenders and in a couple fights got himself ready for a title shot - he couldve won a title ... in fact I think Morales matches up well with Diaz and probably couldve beat him ...

    What do you guys think?

Should Morales had stayed at LW and fought someone like Jesus Chavez ... or Juan Diaz or Acelino Freitas ... got his record setting 4th world title in as many weight classes?

Morales had a tough time with David Diaz who is a slower, less technical version of Juan Diaz. His legs are gone and at this point in his career I think he'd get beat up.

I think that Morales controlled that fight with his jab and every once in a while David Diaz would come in with some wild **** ...

I think that Morales was also lethargic because of the constant change in weight and not taking time off.

It truely effected his endurance ... now If Morales stayed at lightweight after he fought Raheem ...

I think that was Morales' first time fighting a slick, defensive minded boxer ... while Morales was a boxer himself. He just got outboxed by Raheem.

But if he took a couple of tune ups after the loss to raheem - do you think he couldve won a title?

**** it wouldve been great but he had to give his rematch to Pacquiao and all after raheem. Maybe if he stayed at lightweight to fight Pac there it woulve been a different story but what can we do.

But i know what you mean. A year or a year and a half off could have made and could still make a lot of difference. Barrera took some time off in his career and that's why he's still in the mix.

And Morales is talking about a comeback in 09 so if the lightweight division sorts itself out he could probably grab a vacant belt....

If Pac beats Diaz and fights Campbell, the winner won't bother keeping all those belt.
