Erik Morales vs. Francisco Lorenzo RBR

I know. :yep It looks good combined with the others, though.

 

Don't forget, Morales is coming down from welterweight.

 

Round 2

Lorenzo keeps blasting his way in with left hooks to the body and right hands up high. Morales lays back and looks to jab at Lorenzo's face on the way in. Lorenzo keeps himself leaned down low while delivering his right hand bombs and pulling out. Lorenzo goes down after a big Morales right hand but it's ruled a slip. They punch together into a clinch. Lorenzo shoves a jab into Erik's face. Lorenzo is swatting with both hands, and gets inside where the two exchange short body taps. Morales lands a jab to the body, still hanging on the outside. Lorenzo wings a big overhand right at Morales and falls shy.

 

Round 3

Lorenzo is taking huge windmill shots with his right hand and keeping Morales on the defensive with them. Morales tries to jab while backing up but is a bit off balance with his punches while in motion. Lorenzo pecks with his jab. Morales throws a five punch combo that excites the crowd but doesn't land much. Lorenzo slaps with a right on the nose. Lorenzo jabs low, and then hooks to the body. Lorenzo is warned to keep them up. They trade a bit at short range, with Morales giving some ground. Lorenzo slaps him into the ropes and continues to launch high right hands combined with hooks to the body. Morales lands a nice counter left hook and gets cheered but Lorenzo is mostly taking the crowd of the fight. Lorenzo slaps at Morales and backs him across the ring.

 

Round 4

Lorenzo ducks a hook and lands his own to the body. Lorenzo comes forward behind a pawing jab, leaning forward. Morales covers up as Lorenzo leaps in with a lead left hook. Morales loads up on a big right hand, swinging his entire body weight into it. Lorenzo takes it mostly on the gloves. Lorenzo rushes Morales and grips him around the arms and back. Lorenzo is ducking down and shooting in on Morales only to rise up and slap down with some right hands. Morales is still trying to stay disciplined with the jab but is tempted to wing some wide power punches as Lorenzo darts in and out. Nice long 1-2 from Morales on the outside. Lorenzo walks forward with his fists flapping at Morales' face.

 

The rounds are difficult to score. Lorenzo's style is awkward and Morales isn't very active. There haven't been a ton of clean punches landed either way.

 

Round 5

Lorenzo hooks to the body and slaps up at Morales' guard. Morales tries to walk Lorenzo into the ropes but keeps getting hit with body hooks. Lorenzo is finding himself at the end of more and more glancing Morales right hands now, his erratic movements getting a little predictable. Morales keeps firing hard right hands as Lorenzo swerves from side to side with an elastic waist, just praying that he'll make contact and doing so with about half of them by sheer luck. Morales starts landing some step-through left hooks to compliment his right hand attack. Lorenzo goes down!! He beats the count rather quickly but Morales is confident and gaining momentum now. The lion is awake!!!

Even before the KD, this was the first round I was comfortable saying was clearly EM's.
