Erik's comeback continues and Barrios is his next opponent. Fight is on December 18th in Mexico. Weight is 138 which shows Erik is slowly moving down.

Am I wrong for thinking that this could actually be a good fight? Both Barrios and Morales are past their best, we all know that, but they both come to fight and don't mind getting into tearups. For Barrios this is a big fight to re-establish himself and maybe get one more title shot.

Morales, on the other hand, has more or less being promised a JMM fight next year (assuming Marquez beats Katsidis and Morales wins here). Erik could have gone for a really soft touch and waited for Marquez but that's not how El Terrible rolls

    Thoughts?

Bad move for Morales IMO. He loses, ESB cries.

Hmm, could be interesting alright. I've really been against this Morales comeback but I'd tune into this one alright to see what happens.

Erik is past it like Roy. This doesn't mean they can't beat lower and mid level fighters. Even in a diminished state, their skill and experience is good enough but they can't compete at the level they are acustomed to and that is sad. The durability, timing, reflexes etc have all deterioated.

Nevertheless, I hope Erik can win. He's given alot to boxing.
