This fight hasn't been talked about much since the disappointing pull out by Matthysse.

Does Cano have a shot? I can't much of him online but he's an undefeated young hungry lion :yep with what looks to have a decent crack on him too.

I wanna put some gwalla down tonight and this seems like the most viable upset imo

    Thoughts?

It depends how Morales performs, was his tremendous performance against Maidana a one off?. I think Morales will win and hopefully he goes on to fight Maidana again because the first fight was great.

Lets not get crazy, the kid is young, powerful & undefeated, he`s ranked 12th & nobody knows how good an undefeated fighter is until their biggest fight, he might be ****, he might be ok, he might be great but this is not a done deal by a long shot.

Morales best weight was 5 weights below where this fight will take place, he must be at his best to make sure of victory vs this young Cano guy... for all we know he could be an ATG in the making & Erik will be his `pass the torch` opponent.... I really hope not, I actually hope your right & Morales wipes this kid out & gets what was stolen from him vs David Diaz, the honour of being Mexico`s 1st 4 weight champion.

Cano looks slow and awkward to me. Morales should handle him on experience alone.

Come on he has NO chance, how much time did he have to prepare 2 weeks?

He is going to be dead come the 6th round.

Believe me, I want Morales to win more than anyone but nothing is guaranteed... if you feel that confident then put everything on Morales.... I read that Cano was already in shape & training + he`s naturally a lot bigger than Morales.

Its dangerous to be so overconfident, I hope Erik does not have your mindset or this fight will make me very sad :-(

Who said it was guaranteed? :huh

But Morales has ALL of the advantages going into this fight.

If he cant get the job done with ease I would be very shocked!

In any case I dont bet for money.

You may well have read that Cano was in shape, but how could he possibly be in fight shape (which is completely different) besides what else are you going to read he is in horrible shape and stands very little chance?

Doesnt do much for viewing figures does it?

well said. they say that every fighter has one last fight in them and that could have been maidaina. cano had already been training for another fight. however, he went the distance with a badly faded oscar leon and almost every fighter that had a winning record went the distance with him. even a faded and unmotivated version of morales beats cano.
