No no no. Man, you should've looked a bit deeper into that record. Darnell Boone beat a couple of untested prospects, had a draw with MW title challenger Lajuan Simon, managed to knock down Andre Ward and has never been knocked out despite facing guys like Jean Pascal, who's a champ now at LHW. Lara is a LMW prospect with just 6 pro fights.

What kind of competition would be good in your book? :think

Harsh assessment. BigBone is right, except for the fact that Boone was stopped by Walid Smichet. But I was at that fight. Boone was undertrained and just ran out of gas.

    Lara's impressed me a lot. Can't wait.

And a good post by BigBone. This is a decent fight for him.

Not getting hit big a slow, shot and incapable Edison Miranda does not make one slick. Slightly talented maybe, but once that first right hand from Kessler lands on that soft chin the fight will be over.

Darnell Boone is a journeyman, but he takes his fights seriously and definitely doesn't come to lay down. Perfect trialhorse for an upcoming prospect in his first 10 fights.

Lara will dominate this guy and whoever challanges him. He is too skilled and powerful for anyone. PS, don't forget that there are 5 Cuban prospects fighting this Friday: Guillermo Rigondeaux, Erislandy Lara, Yudel Johnson, Yunier Dorticos and Yordanis Despaigne!!! It's an all Cuban boxing night on Friday night fights. They will all win no doubt, but I can't wait to see Rigondeaux again under his new trainer Roach! :good

Exactly Boone is a journeymen but the kind almost like a Marteze Logan type he will fight everyone and go rounds if not the distance everytime. Here and there he will beat some good prospects. I doubt it hear though Lara has all the makings at being even better then another Cuban like Joel Casamayor.

Not all Cuban actually, Breidis Prescott is also fighting against a pretty good opponent, judging by his record at least, i haven't seen the guy fight.

I think you're confusing Ward and Dirrell. Ward isn't really slick at all, he just moves well and blocks punches well. Dirrell can be really slick, fights a lot like Haye, but that probably will also leave him more prone to getting caught by someone like Abraham. If his chin isn't great (and I have my suspicions - a fighter with a great chin wouldn't have run from Curtis Stevens all night like he did), then all it takes is getting caught once with a punch you don't see while moving in the wrong direction to get knocked out.
