I'm wit it. Lara moves beautifully. He's got some cracks here and there, but any Panther-like fighter is easy on my eyes.
Good to see Lara getting the first Golden Boy/Showtime card. Perez is a good test. He's no bum but no world-beater either, and Lara neads more additional work. Perez has never been stopped and fought plenty of good names, beat Kamau, Garr, Brewer, Zertuche, Erik Mitchell and young prospect Garcia, should give Lara further experience. He also was the USBA LMW champ 2 fights ago, I wonder if he still has the belt and will put it on the line. Good match-making.
No that now belongs to Derek Ennis. Decent step up for Lara, Perez looks to have a decent chin as far as boxrec knows he's never even been KD, fought Margarito twice and lost by UD but managed to drop him in the 1st round of the 2nd fight. Not bad.
Erislandy Lara back in action tonight on first Golden Boy Showtime card! This content is protected Danny Perez is a good solid opponent, like I stated above, beat a couple of contenders, knocked down Margarito and never been stopped, it's a sure 10 rounder. I look forward seeing Lara with Ronnie Shields, it's a nice choice. I expect no major improvement right away, but the fight itself should be a good lesson. Lara needs to be careful in there, but should get the W.
i just wish he will improve his defense this time,i dont like what he did in his last fight-winkywhright style-letting his oponent dig with uppercuts,i want to see better footwork, handspeed and a nice left hand.He has the skills and the power to do it.
I do not know much about Perez, but I do know that Lara better not ever let a banger crack him with uppercuts the way Brewer did!
