I taped the fight and rewatched it this morning and i dont see at any point Lara being at the edge of being KO,he got caught and he managed to stay in the fight without getting a count.
He fought a crafty, experienced and tough guy and he beat him to the bone,he finished strong and didnt get carried away by any kind of pressure. As he keeps steping up in competition he will improve more and more.He wasnt as impressive as gamboa, but he looked good.I dont like that Winky Wright style of getting in a shell to block punches b/c one day he will eat a nasty uppercut.

Be a man, now you are making up chickenly excuses.

Lara would mop the floor with Martirosyan.

Lara is a very good boxer. The guy has 10 pro fights and over 300 amateur fights. He has LOTS, AND LOTS of experience.

We can compare this fight against Pavlik/Brewster. At that time Pavlik had 8 pro fights and 98 amateurs. Pavlik KO brewster in 2 rounds.

    :patsch

This is what you said before:

''I need to see how Lara handles Grady Brewer before I speculate on this match up. I may be way off, but I have a feeling that B.B. is about to send one more young hopeful back to the proverbial drawing board. This is a HUGE step up in class for Lara, and if he ain't the real deal, Brewer will beat him senseless. At this point, if Lara beats Brewer, he probably gives Vanes all he can stand.''

PLUS: whoever said Lara is/was a finished product? :huh:patsch

If he needed 20 more seconds to "stop him" then he wasn't even close to stopping him. Lara was mildly buzzed but no way near getting stopped.

BTW did I mention this is his 10th fight? Because it was.

Rubio....Zertuche. I guess had Brewer taken on Zuniga, Miranda and/or Gary Lockett you would've mentioned them as well.

Rubio was 29-2-1 when he took on Brewer. Zertuche was 9-1-1 but Brewer was coming off 2 straight losses heading into that fight.

If you're not impressed with a prospect with under 10 fights beating a capable journeyman fighter who was double the level of his prior competition then you either have a severe dislike/hatred for the guy or you're being overly irrational.

I do not dislike Lara. I said it was a good win. The one and only thing Lara impressed me with was the way he kept his cool and stuck to fighting his fight over the course of 10 pretty grueling rounds. That's a good sign, and impressive for kid with so few fights. That fact that many of the rounds were indeed "grueling" is not a good sign. I'm still not completely sold on him. It's not like he just blew right through Brewer.

But that basically means all of the things you said earlier don't apply/count if they're proven right. You said Brewer would be a tough fight. Well he turned out to BE a tough fight. You said Brewer would push him and so on so forth and he did. Lara passed all the tests that YOU said he had to...but you're still not sold on him?

That sounds very Piper-ish, "When you think you have all the answers, I change the question"

Actually I think I figured it out.

Boorad is clearly undergoing buyer's remorse of sorts for hopping onto the Vanes Martiryosian train and then watching him struggle to beat Ouma. I'm beginning to think maybe Boo is just being cautious because he doesn't want to hop on another hypetrain. Just a guess.
