Murray's an OK fighter but he has literally nothing in has game to offer him a means of troubling GGG - Lara at least has the means to potentially cause GGG problems... it would make for a more interesting fight.

However Murray vs GGG was preordained for early 2015 from the moment MM signed with Golden Gloves (the S.A. outfit who promote GGGs Monaco events) early last year.

Lara is a Haymon fighter. If Haymon wanted to play ball with HBO the fight could be made, as a 154lb titleholder Lara could drop WBA regular at 154 and get ranked by WBA at 160 to challenge GGG.

Lara personally wants the fight, but his management says no. Not either fighters fault, just the business is what it is.

Yeap. Monte Carlo SBM , and their Sports and Tourism boards really wanted GGG back. So GG SA went and signed a high enough profile guy to lure GGG back. Murray is a legit guy though, and a step up from Adama.

I think Murray will be tougher than anticipated, he cant travel to US so he knows this is his last chance at major 160 shot. GG SA did invest in some tuneups and solid training as well. It should be a good fight, but I still dont think he has much of a chance.

Lara is above average, but like many other untested fighters, he had flaws. Like Trout, Provodnikov, Broner...as they tried to rise in the level of competition their flaws are easier to exploit by the more talented fighters.
e.g., I love watching provodnikov fight, but I don't delude myself by pretending he's a top 10 fighter...

Lara has had some injustices but Canelo wasn't one, I personally scored the fight for Lara but to his own fault he made the fight close enough to justify it going the other way. He's definitely one of my favorites to watch though, I don't find him boring at all.

Lara should be in the top 10 p4p right now, but he's been on the losing end of some bad decisions. I watched his fight with Paul Williams yesterday. He won 9/12 rounds. He was battering Williams, playing with him, landing hard left hands whenever he wanted. Roy Jones and Max Kellerman were like "Paul Williams needs to retire. You hate to see a guy take a beating like this. It's these kinds of beatings that take years off of your life." It was more impressive than what Rigondeaux did with Amagasa who likewise had ridiculous height and reach advantages, and they ****ing robbed Lara.

His victory over Alvarez was at least close, and even though he controlled the fight and landed the better shots he almost deserved to lose for all that running like De La Hoya in the Trinidad fight.

Lara is just a beautiful athletic specimen, built for boxing, and so smart. I'd pick him to beat GGG or Mayweather right now. He just needs to beat Andrade, and rematch Alvarez, Martirosyan, or Molina. Maybe, step his work rate up a little and leave no doubt about how elite he is.

He didn't. He stayed out of the way once he felt his power and blew his chance by not punching enough. Make them miss make them PAY
