....maybe he was a little risk averse, but he probably felt he had the fight won and in the biggest fight of his career he didn't want to get careless.

still beat canelo's a88 though...and clearly canelo is scared to give him a rematch.

Lara only fought for about the first 3 rounds, shamelessly ran the other 9, if he thought he had the fight won after 3 rds he sounds as ignorant as you do.

Ggg would knock them all out. ggg beat a far better version of these fighters in andre dirrell. Apart fin Andrade who has skills, the others are hype jobs.

the mexican version of "clearly losing" right? that's where the fight is close and they give it to the non-mexican.

if the mexican gets his a88 handed to him in kinds of fashion, that's the mexican version of "a draw"

My guess would be that you occupy your own niche somewhere in the porcine family.

Lol that's all you got to say, so if you hit the opponent and move to the opposite side of the ring and continue to move you call that boxing.

Watch Ali vs Floyd (Cassius Clay days) to see how an outside boxer stays just out of range and continues to outbox his opponent. Then watch Lara vs Canelo where Lara throws a punch and moves to the opposite side of the ring as far away from Canelo as possible.

It's still boxing, but to call it technical brilliance is an insult to other boxers. Guys like Whitaker achieved the same result as Lara whilst standing right in front of his opponent and still throwing punches, that's what you call a superstar.

And lastly if beating Ishe Smith, Canelo (give him the win for arguments sake), Austin Trout and Paul Williams makes you a think he is a superstar (which should be reserved for only a select few) you need to take a proper look at some of the real superstars throughout boxings history. Because those four wins are nothing compared to what others have achieved.

I was watching the Lara v Williams match yesterday. Lara doesn't seem to have much inside game. He would get off first, catch Williams coming in, then step back to do it again. It was very counter punchy. He was doing really good with his jab too. He has a limited number of tools, but he's the best in the business at using them. Whereas Pacquiao or Gonzalez might hit you, step to the side and hit you from another angle, Lara seems to be about finding a weakness and then exploiting it over and over.

If you want to take the long view, then no he hasn't accomplished as much as some of the greatest. But he has done as much as many of the current pack of active fighters who are generally listed above him, with the exceptions of May, Pac, Marquez, and Hopkins.

i don't accept that lara's wins are "nothing"....i suspect you have your own agenda.

look at lara-williams. if that had been canelo losing that decision to williams the entire boxing world would have raised cain! fans all over the internet would have screamed murder! the commission would have got involved...it would have led the nightly news and sports center. it would have been the talk of the country for months just like pac-bradley I which, to me, was a fair decision.

instead it was quietly overlooked because lara has a very small fan base.

my point is, the significance of lara's wins are overlooked because lara is overlooked. a popular fighter with those wins would have a huge publicity machine behind them making sure the fans and the public understood the significance of each fight and that each win was blown completely out of proportion, even for being significant wins...and they would be justified, because all those guys are, in their way, top fighters....smith, for example, is better than kirkland....and you'll see whan canelo beats kirkland, it's gonna be all over the news and all over the forum ad nauseum for weeks...i was one of the VERY FEW who even posted on esb about lara's win over smith.
