This could be an interesting style matchup. Erislandy showed good defense and calculated offense against PW and Floyd always had problems with southpaws. How do you see this going?

Terrible fight. Mayweather would pick him apart easily. If Floyd is going to have a fight at 154 it should be martinez

it could be boring both calculating each other and throwing few punches. At this point maybe Floyd by decision.A very defensive fight-beautiful for those who appreciate boxing, but boring for those looking for a gatti-ward, barrera-morales.

I don't believe the highlighted statement is true. He's beaten every southpaw he's faced convincingly. Corely and Mitchell didn't win any rounds, Judah won about 2 or 3 rounds. Lara, isn't seasoned enough for a guy like Mayweather. Mayweather would frustrate the hell out of him and win a 8-4 type decision.

Unless Floyd has gotten old over night, he schools Lara and wins a wide decision... Lara hits hard, good natural skils, but he needs to add more before facing an elite like Mayweather,Martinez,... He caught Williams at the right time...Hes much bigger and might beat an aging Cotto.. But if Cotto handles his power, then he schools Lara too.

Molina and Lara should rematch and the winner fight Canelo... If Canelo has a solid chin he beats up Lara too...

Give El Perro a tune up or 2 and him and Lara would give us some fireworks.

Lara doesn't have what it takes to beat Mayweather, who has too many tools as his disposal.

No. Though Lara easily won on Saturday by repeatedly punching Williams in the face with single shots, Floyd would either not get hit or adjust quickly. Either way, Floyd wins by wide UD. Floyd is not Williams. He would not wander aimlessly around the ring trying to find Lara. Floyd is a master in the ring that has nearly every trick in the book up his sleeve... and Lara is still green.

there is a wide, and i mean wide, gap between floyd and paul williams in terms of skills, ring iq, and versatility.....

lara has some skills...some potential....but paul is not an intelligent fighter....lara, like most fighters, would be in way over his head......

its interesting in theory....because lara has good hand and footspeed....is lefthanded...and looks the part.....but there arent many who can match floyd between the ears.....

Lara has a outstanding amateur background and is a very good boxer, he could hang with martinez if he had more power i think. but in the 1996 Olympics mayweather at 125 pounds won a 16-3 decision against Lorenzo Aragon of Cuba, becoming the first U.S. boxer to defeat a Cuban in 20 years, in his semi finals matchup. floyd is the grandmaster of the sweet science.
