I'm not taking anything hard we having a very civilized conversation here, I just want to understand why a person that obviously love the sport doesn't like fighters that use all that is available to them, is like bringing a knife to a gun fight, who do you think should win? Abril has more weapons than Rios and probably 10 out 9 will win a fight against him, Lara is four times the boxer that Jr will ever be and while I think his resume is better than that of Canelo, I still think is BS, because he is Champion and should be fighting the best, no hand picked opponents, others fighters have the right to earn money and what they doing is blocking them, that's a shame...
PS. You didn't answer my question, what do we make of Rios?

Sorry, I asumed it was a rhetorical question. I make Rios to be what he is, an iron chinned brawler. I don't hold anything against him fighting someone like Abril, and having no answer for a dirty tactic.

I love the sport, can't get enough of the news, interviews, fightsand replays, and as such, seeing a fighter do what you call " using what's available to them" as a tactic doesn't sit well with me.

Hugging and grabbing as a game plan isn't a skill, and isn't or shouldn't be available to them. Points needed to be taken away by the ref.

Holding and every now and then grabbing happens, I get it. The difference is, Abril came with it as the basis for his game plan, that's where I draw the line.

How can you say you love the sport but dislike the Cubans with their great technical fighting style?

I love the sport of boxing and could watch great technical fighting for hours without a Knock Out.

The brawler style is exciting but it's fighting it's just one aspect of the sport of BOXING!

Saludos Garfios, este Mejicano tiene tremendo respeto para los pugilistas Cubanos! :bbb

People keeps bringing Lara struggles with Molina . But nobody mentions that Molina was robbed twice against junior.

You have to understand that 90% of those clinches were initiated by Rios, he didn't have any sense of distance, he was getting clocked from the outside and never got his timing right, so he will step in to close and Abril will put his right glove up and do his shoulder roll, Rios didn't have any answer for that, on top of that every time he took a step back he will get clocked again, the guy was all wrong for Rios and from now on they will stay away from boxers, I like the hit me and I hit you back but there's no science in that, entertainment yes, boxing skills, not... Some ppl like black others white, I respect your opinion.

Lara would land left hand after left hand on Chavez' big melon head, round after round, only to get robbed if Chavez manages to go the distance.
