i'd take lara - more polished/skilled/talented and naturally larger.

Alvarez. Solid fundamentals with size power and speed.

This kid might be the truth.
One thing i saw with Lara in his fight with Brewer is that when Brewer caught him he didnt react very well to getting tagged. Alvarez showed in his last fight he can deal with getting tagged.

Very very tough and awesome fight. Lara and Alvarez are both my top prospects right now.
It would be a bitter sweet fight but i think Alvarez has more power and grit to take the decision.

Man, this is a good match-up. I like both as well, I feel Alvarez has the better combinations of punches, while Lara might have the edge in speed and size. What does Canelo's Amature expirience look like? I know Lara has a great resume as an amatuer.

As far as the better chin, well we saw Saul get rocked but recovered well. I havn't really seen Lara take a flush shot like the one Alvarez took, but I did hear about the Brewer fight. So it's hard to tell.

I'm sitting in the fence on this one till I see more from these guys against higher opposition.

This would be an amazing matchup. Lara has the reach to keep Alvarez outside but he definitely has trouble pulling the trigger.

Alvarez can take a shot, but some of those short looping punches from Lara could probably score a knockdown on him. Can't see Lara knocking him out though.

Lara has the skills but he would definitely need to step on the gas to win against Alvarez.

Today I'll put my vote in for Lara, but Alvarez has the moxy, strength, and skills to easily tip the scales over at any time.

Keep in mind that Alvarez won't be entering his prime for another couple years.

Now that i think of it.

Lara does have a problem pulling the trigger. Also he was getting beat on the inside by Brewer. Thats right i remember me saying he has to develop an inside game after taht fight.

With that added im pretty confident in an Alvarez win. Alvarez has shown us he can fight both inside and outside.

It just seems Lara freezes up when he is on the inside and desperately wants to get back to the outside.
