If Erislandly Lara continues his progress, could he eventually give Sergio Martinez a stiff challenge?
if he has over 5 fights including 2 or 3 title fights by next year. even then he's too green for a guy like martinez. i think he gets beat up.
No,keep him away from Martinez until he has faced better competition,martinez is elite at this point.Lara could take on a rentless Angulo coming forward with no head movement,or Cintron but Martinez moves well,shoots from every angle and packs a decent punch.
I know Lara is very Green and Sergio is one hell of a fighter but I have to go with Lara. It might be too early but I think hes just that good
Martinez outboxes him pretty convincingly at the moment. Definitely too early for Lara, but I think Maravilla's speed, reflexes and slickness might be wrong at any point of his career.
I'm not convinced of Lara like I use to be, I think he is too passive and doesn't punch hard enough to make it to the elite level. Martinez is way too much for Lara at this moment.
Sergio gives Lara a brutal introduction into the big leagues at this point. But there is no need to rush the talented Cuban into this type of test yet...let him show us that he can beat a Mora, Cintron or Angulo first
