Erislandy Lara vs. Yuri Foreman

The crowd will run away faster than Lara himself.

Foreman did not beat anyone in the last few years.

 

Great fight....Lara daring to be great.....

Lara should get a rare stoppage here, Foreman really shouldn't be in the ring with him.

 

If Lara isn't capable of stopping current Yuri, and pretty early at that, then he will drop in value I believe.
He's to mobile for immobile Foreman and he should be able to let him walk into big punches from early on.
I expect him to get Yuri out of there in about 4 rounds.

 

Foreman seems to be somewhat of an unknown as there doesn't seem to be much video footage available of Foreman since the Wolak fight. (if anyone can find any videos of Foreman's recent fights please share it) All I could find is a highlight on youtube of Foreman stopping someone named Jovany Javier Gomez in 2013.

I wouldn't make too much of the Wolak fight as he was clearly still struggling with the knee injury, it was probably too soon of him to come back for that fight. After that he took two years off, presumably for the knee to heal fully, then he was very active in 2013 with 4 fights, but since then he took another two years off with one fight in December 2015 and one fight in 2016.

I would be very interested if anyone has video of his last two fights, then we could see how his mobility is. It's been a long time since the Cotto fight, with the time off his knee may be fully healed by now.

If Yuri is anything like what he was in the Cotto fight, before the injury occurred, then he's certainly a very skilled boxer who is tough to find. He was giving Cotto all sorts of problems in the rounds before he sustained the knee injury. If the knee is healed by now, and Foreman can move around the ring like he used to, he is skilled enough to be a challenge for Lara. But like I said since we don't seem to have any video footage of any of Foreman's recent fights, it's really a mystery as to what kind of condition Foreman is in at this point.

 

Don't care about it. Lara should be fighting better opponents than this, especially since GGG won't even consider him as an option.

 

GGG is ****, I don't want to hear anything about if GGG looks ordinary against Jacobs, like you knew it all along. Be real.

 

I'll admit it I was wrong and not give a fake ass story like you, pretending I knew it all along... **** all that bull****, I stick to my guns at all times.

 

It doesn't matter, I'm not here on these boards saying Jacobs isn't ****, I've giving him his due. This is boxing, anything can happen and nobody is unbeatable, and that's that. If he Knocks out Jacobs early I'll give full credut, but in no way will you ever hear me act like I knew it all along. If Jacobs goes the distance Im almost 100% certain you'll try to get credit for it by saying you knew it all along somehow some way.

 

I doubt many people are really lining up to fight Lara. Who's gonna want to fight a slick boxer at 154 who is very tough to outbox? I'd rather see him in there with another boxer who can move rather than just a random plodder who is going to be easy work for Lara. Not sure if Foreman at this point fits that description, but if his knee is healed by now, he has the ability to engage in an actual boxing match, possibly a counter - counter punching duel.

I doubt you'll get many votes for Foreman to win since there's barely any footage of him since his fights against Cotto and Walek. The competitiveness of this fight hinges on one thing : Foreman's knee. If it's healed, this could be a good fight. If it's still injured and he can't move, he's not going to be able to do much in there. (like against Wolak)

I doubt Foreman would take this fight if he didn't think he had a chance, so perhaps his inactivity and level of competition has allowed him to overcome the knee injury. We will see, I find it hard to believe that there doesn't seem to be any of his recent fights on youtube. How can you make a prediction on this when you haven't seen a Yuri Foreman fight in 5 years lol.
