I'll create the thread now, for it to be bumped later. Erislandy Lara will be the one to defeat Canelo Alvarez. Canelo Alvarez has proved to be a limited boxer. He does not know how to take a break and still win rounds. He's a fighter who likes to slug it out, but i'm sorry, he will get OUTCLASSED by the slick Cuban. Very rarely am i wrong and i feel very confident about this outcome. Lara outboxes him bell to bell, for a wide UD. BANK.ON.IT. I'll create a fight breakdown when the fight is signed. I feel bad for Doc. He's just a teenage boy who looks up to his idol. This will break his heart. :-(
I used to think Gasnelo had the stamina to pressure Erislandy and break him down with bodyshots. As time went by we were able to see Gasnelo's stamina is as **** as Khan's chin. He's unable to apply serious pressure because of his incredibly bad stamina. Erislandy has an extremely high risk of getting robbed in this fight with his incredibly low action style. They wouldn't even give Trout the decision
Would definitely like to see this. Very unlikely GBP allows it though. Too much risk too little reward.
All Lara has to do is keep on winning. The way Rigo did. The way Mattyse did. If you keep on winning, the top guy will have no choice.
Lara has a lot of the things you need. He can school Canelo, but his on suspect stamina, and tendency to eat left hooks to the body will hurt him. He's too used to the amateur game. Sometimes he'll stop moving and sit still with his earmuffs. Canelo will let lose a 5 punch combo and dig with left hooks to the body if he does this, which is why Lara has to keep moving. But then the next problem is his workrate won't be enough to sway the biased judges
I said it in another thread today and I am saying it now. Erislandy Lara would outbox Canelo to win a decision and the title. I am not a Canelo hater, I am actually a big fan. I picked him to beat Trout by a decision and he did it. Lara is my favorite jr. middleweight and I truly believe he is the best at that weight. Canelo is probably the second best guy at that weight. I am not counting Floyd because he is the welterweight champion and only a part-time jr. middlweight. The only bad thing about Lara fighting Canelo is that he would probably enter the ring 3 rounds behind on the official scorecards. We all saw what happened in the Williams and Martirosyan fights. I have not yet seen the Molina fight in its entirety, so I can't speak on that one at the moment. Either way, Lara would outbox Alvarez. I am curious to see if Golden Boy try to prevent that fight from even happening. Then again, Canelo could lose to Mayweather if Floyd actually steps up and takes the challenge. We all know Floyd would never face Lara.
:deal What's Lara's best wins? Oh yeah, he drew in both of his major fights, and was out-boxed by his daddy Molina.
Lara is good and skillful but I've never really been as high on his talent as many on here are. Should've outclassed Vanes but tbh, styles do make fights. Alvarez very low pace would favor Lara and his combinations decline dramatically once against a guy not a blown up fighter and actually can move/defend decently at 154. Alvarez still can beat him but props to both if the fight happens which it should anyways assuming Lara gets by Angulo who he also should outclass but may struggle against.
Lara is no Rigo. He gets frusterated too easily and resorts to dirty tactics. He has his hands full with Angulo. Don't be surprised when he gets stopped.
