Seen plenty of the other Cubans that defected but barely any of Lara. I know he's got a big rep and supposedly has the potential to go the top but whenever I've seen him I haven't been very impressed. What are some good fights to check where he showcases his ability and talent against decent opposition? And was the early hype surrounding his career deserved or not?

He's definitely got the goods, he just needs to acclimate to the pro-game better and show the hunger necessary to advance. The stage of his career where he gets gimmes is over, and I believe that he can push himself and bring his natural talent and skills to the forefront in order to achieve true contender status.
You may also want to see the Danny Garcia fight, in there Lara shows beautiful boxing skills against decent opposition even though that he couldn't get the stoppage. :thumbsup
