Ermes "The Warrior Kid" Orta, Jr. is an undefeated 23 year old Cuban. He hails, like current Miami resident Carbonell, from Sancti Spíritus back on the home island - but settled instead locally here in Nashville.

Orta is taking on a Dominican veteran thirteen years his senior in Juan Carlos "El Trueno" Peña Toribio - who started his career on a 30-1 run before the pandemic and is since 2-11-1, including a current 0-9-1 skid.

Total mismatch. 4 KDs and the ref waves it off! At least he didn't stop it prematurely!

    Round 1

Orta drops Peña just a minute in with a grazing 1-2-3 as he was ducking. Then again less than a minute later with a downward straight right hand as Peña was in front of him throwing wild overhands. A third knockdown brings the doctor up on the apron, before the fourth has the ref waving it off.

    KO1!

"...a WBG championship belt to put on his mantle, something to really build on..."

This freaking Crackerjack prize is worthless except as maybe the foundation of a pillow fort. :sisi1

"This is his house, house that Ermes built!" shrieks the ring emcee.

It's kind of true - this was Orta's sixth consecutive bout at the Texas Troubadour Theater in Nashville on the CountryBox series. He has two more scheduled, in October and November. Let's see if the opposition improves any. He's now 9-0 (8) but...very little value in there.

Oof, that's rough - a bunch of the people in the YouTube live comments were members of Peña's family, including his nieces. They were...strangely confident before the fight, for some reason. :sisi1

The scrapped original co-main event of this was apparently supposed to be Petr Mukhamedovich Khamukov vs. Brad Elliot Solomon at middleweight, but it seems Triller was slow to pick up on the fact the card had changed as BoxRec already had tonight's exact bout list up as of the weekend. :nusenuse:

I was very confused when they published a Tweet yesterday with a poster mentioning Khamukov vs. Solomon, but not Isaac Carbonell.

...ahh, scrapped because Solomon is being fed to Raul Curiel on a GBP card on December 17th.
