If you don't know who Ernesto Hoost is he's a former K-1 Grand Prix champion. Plus he has a lot of other accolades. Alright, so he was a big deal in the 90's and Tyson was too. If this fight would have happened who do you think would have won? Also, do you think that Hoost would be a perfect match for Tyson back then?
Hoost was rocked repeated by that giant black dude with no chin. Can't recall the name off top my head, but I remember him somehow able to land on Hoost though Hoost did topple the tree. Tyson would rip the hearts out of ANYONE without absolutely great defensive awareness and a reliable if not sturdy chin. The defensive irresponsibility of Hoost would be his downfall vs Tyson.
In boxing Hoost doesn't have a ghost of a chance... In kickboxing it's any mans fight, if Hoost can keep Tyson at kicking range he could definitely chop his legs down and stop him that way. But Mike would be dangerous and could definitely catch him, I wouldn't bet money on that fight....
Bob Sapp.... When he was a roided monster in the late 90s/early 2000s. In Hoosts defense Sapp got away with a lot of dirty tactics that were definitely illegal under K-1 rules, rabbit punches, hitting downed opponents. The Japanese always bended the rules for freakshow fights like Sapp, under ordinary circumstances I don't think Hoost would have ever lost to him.
Agreed if he was able to keep Tyson at range with his kicks than yeah he has a chance but if not its lights out for Hoost
How many low kicks do you think a Tyson could take from an elite kickboxer like Hoost? If they were to fight 10x I could see Hoost at least taking a fight or two.
how many kicks will he land before Tyson rushes him? And then its all she wrote. Throwing kicks at a short fighter, especially one whose style is based on ducking, might not be such a great idea. Tysons had pretty big thick legs, hoost lands one or to kicks before Tyson closes the distance and puts hoost to sleep
That would definitely happen more than once if this fight panned out 10x, but if Hoost could fight at kicking range(further than punching) he might be able to keep Tyson at bay with a few hard low kicks or even land some crippling kicks to the body, or even hit the jackpot with a kick right to the dome. Hoost would have his hands full yeah, but winning wouldn't be impossible.
Just watch Hoost vs Sapp, first round and tell me this guy would beat Tyson. Tyson knocks him out 10/10 maybe in the first round
Under boxing rules, Tyson knocks Ernesto's head off the Earth. You have to understand that eventhough kickboxing uses hands, the level of skill is incomparable. Kickboxers have slow hands and feet, zero defense and are very slow compared to someone like Tyson. Feet positioning and angles that boxers use would confuse every kickboxer and especially with Mike's slipping ability Hoost wouldn't land single punch. Kickboxers aren't used to very good ring-cutting. Under K1 rules Hoost might chop Tyson's legs a bit, but after Mike realises that Hoost drops his hands while he throws leg kicks he would back him up and good night. I doubt that Hoost would try to exchange punches with Mike too. He would probably avoid clinching at all costs, no matter how good his knees were, when Mike starts making holes in his head and ribcage he would back off immediately.
