c , i even forgot bugner cuz he doesn't mean much 2 me , shavers killed him .
shavers possibly was a harder clean puncher than tyson , cuz of that BBC , i agree that elbows r harder than punches with a wrapped padded gloved fist , no doubt , they also have more pressure per area because of d mentioned reasons here .

bugner died in ringz: shaverz hit dat hard. bugner replaced by actor burt reynolds in future bouts..why record started to suck than. stillz, frank bruno's best win no doubt: shavers bbc is key to punching power..also max baer's power. elbows r harder than fist but depends on person, shaverz elbow iz harder than tysons elbow but shavers didn't need to use the elbow cauze he hit that hard, u know what i : mean.

  4. Shavers had a harder right hand than Foreman but didn't have as good a left or uppercut as Foreman. Shavers had a lesser chin than Big George also.
Ali and Norton said Shavers hit harder I think in part because at the time,no one liked George. Foreman was a dick back then and Shavers was always a sweet guy. They didnt want to give credit to George. Anyway,Ali also said in his autobiography that George had him out on his feet with a awkward glancing punch so...that speaks for itself.
Shavers would lose to Foreman by KO3

Victories over young, norton, ellis and ali paint a pretty good picture but he lost far too often in his prime against varying styles.

George and Joe push his **** in.

First time I heard of Earnie Shavers,

December 1970, on the Ali - Bonavena undercard at Madison Square Garden.

A 200 lb. Earnie, with hair, versus one Herman 'Bunky' Akins.

Akins came in from the west coast with a bit of a write-up.
He was undefeated in 17 fights, and won all by knock-out.
He was labeled as 'Herman the Monster', for clubbing fighters to the canvas.

The Dark Detroyer blasted out Akins in the first round.

I love Joe Frazier but Id have to say that Ernie would have a good chance at catching Joe in the first two rounds with something devastating. Frazier was there to be hit and he was a slow starter.

If the bell rings for the 3rd round Frazier win IMO.

Earnie didn't even get respect from Ring Magazine

    Top 10 Annual Ratings

    1972
    1973, #6
    1974
    1975, #6
    1976
    1977, #6
    1978
    1979, #5

In 1978, Ring Magazine had rated Alfredo Evangilista, Ossie Ocassio and Domingo D'Elia all above Earnie.

That is one of the reasons why that Magazine was clueless.
