Though not the best fighter of his generation, he certainly was the best singer out of em. I've also heard him sing "I Can't Wait", but I think this is the best I've heard from him. Just a song that gives me a solid smile.

If he 'd had a hammer, he would be some heavyweight!

He had at least some hammer to him- Sure knocked Thad Spencer down twice (though one was ruled as a slip). But if you gave him the punch of say.... Williams, that'd be some heavyweight.

He should have busted out in song while he was boxing. Talk about a shtick.

A singing octopus would definitely be quite the sight.

Undisputed HW Champ when it comes to singing, I'd say. That wasn't bad at all. I'm a big fan of old timey music like that.

During his 15 rounder vs Terrell, if it had been written back then, Ali could’ve been a bit more nice and sang: -

Conversely, this would’ve been a nice cover for Terrell to perform: -

Btw, though often confused to be such, Ernie was not married or related to singer Tammi Terrell.

Ernie's sister was Jean Terrell, who replaced Diana Ross as lead singer on the Supremes. The new Supremes actually initially did better than Diana did when she broke off and started her solo career. Supremes with Jean singing lead had hits like Up The Ladder To The Roof, Stoned Love and Nathan Jones. Anyway, Ernie's song here sounds like Jean was singing back-up. Don't know for sure but sounds like her.
